SAN FRANCISCO — Senior Andrew Stueve capped off his collegiate career in style on Sunday as he threw a four-hit complete game shutout to lead the Warriors to a 5-0 win at San Francisco State in the season finale.

Stueve, who picked up his 20th career victory, improved to 6-2 on the season after recording many no decisions despite being one of the best pitchers in the California Collegiate Athletic Association. He finishes the season with a 2.46 ERA with 67 strikeouts and just 11 walks.

Cal State Stanislaus concludes the 2011 campaign with 26-21 overall and 18-20 CCAA records after splitting the final four-game series with San Francisco State (16-34, 11-29 CCAA).

The Warriors and the Gators won games on each other's home field. Stanislaus opened with a win in 14th innings in San Francisco on Friday. SF State snagged two at Warrior Baseball Field on Saturday in two close games.

For Stueve, it was his second win in six days and third in the last 10 days. Pitching in relief on Tuesday at Chico State, Stueve gave up just one hit in 4 2/3 innings of work and earned the victory when the Warriors beat Chico, 6-4, in dramatic fashion. For the week, Stueve went 2-0, gave up just one run on five hits in 13 2/3 innings and struck out nine. His ERA was 0.68 and opponents batted just .116 against him. Last Friday, he also had a complete game victory against Cal State L.A.

On Sunday, Stueve was sharp like he has been all season long. He only allow two baserunners to reach second and at one point retired 13 of 14 batters including 11 straight. In the end, he gave up just four singles, struck out seven and walked one.

David Contreras went 2-for-5 with a RBI and Garrett Wright scored twice to lead the Stanislaus offense.

The Warriors scored four runs in the third after the first three batters reached to load the bases. Contreras' infield single scored Boomer Donnell for the first run. Colton Beatty drove in Wright on a groundout, two walks plated John Canepa and the Warriors capped the rally when Vince Hungerford was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded.

Stanislaus tagged on a run in the sixth when Cisco Green singled in Wright who had reached on a fielder's choice and got into scoring position on a Gator error.
