LOS ANGELES — Sisters Jessica and
Vanessa Cervantes connected on a Warrior goal, but the Cal State Stanislaus women's soccer team played to a 1-1 draw with Cal State L.A. Friday night.
With the tie, the North Division leading Warriors remain undefeated at 3-0-2 overall and 2-0-1 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association. Cal State Stanislaus entered the week ranked No. 23 in the latest NSCAA Top 25 poll.
Cal State L.A. is now 2-2-1 and 0-2-1 in conference play.
Jessica Cervantes scored her first collegiate goal in the 79th minute of a scoreless match to put Cal State Stanislaus on the board. She beat the defender and blasted it past the goalkeeper after getting a pass from her older sister

But about four minutes later, the Golden Eagles would send in the equalizer. Norie Pablo tied the score at 82:54. She was set up by Natalie Martin on the play.
The teams battled evenly in the overtime periods, similar to the rest of the match. Cal State L.A. edged Stanislaus on shots, 15-12. Cal State L.A. took 11 corner kicks to the Warriors one.

"It was an outstanding game by two teams committed to playing good soccer, " Bolton added. "We really turned it on in the second half and started to really gain control."

Vanessa Cervantes header sailed wide in the 107th minute.
Alexia Poon gave the Warriors a good opportunity for the sudden victory in the 108th minute but her shot was picked up by L.A.'s Jessie Walworth.
The Warrior women will next take on 14th ranked Cal State Dominguez Hills on Sunday at 11:30 a.m. The Toros lost to Chico State, 3-1 Friday night.
