Friday, Jan. 20, 7:30 p.m.
vs. Cal State Monterey Bay OTTERS (2-11, 1-8 CCAA)

Series Notes: Cal State Stanislaus won both games in 2010-11 over Cal State Monterey Bay after a five-game losing streak. The Warriors are now 6-8 against the Otters (2-4 in Seaside).

About the Otters: Cal State Monterey Bay has lost eight straight. The Otters' last win was on Dec. 3, an OT win over Sonoma State … CSUMB turned the ball over 248 times (CCAA leading) in 13 games … Brandon Wards leads with 13.7 points per game. Derrick Anderson chips in 13.1 per contest.

Friday, Jan. 21, 7:30 p.m.
vs. Cal State East Bay PIONEERS (7-6, 5-4 CCAA)

Series Notes: Cal State Stanislaus is undefeated during CCAA play against Cal State East Bay at 4-0 since CSUEB joined the CCAA … The Warriors lead 26-8 all-time.

The Last Time We Met... was on Feb. 12, 2011, in Hayward in a big Stanislaus win, 81-64. Reggie Jones scored 20 and Evan Scott had 19. The Warriors shot 57.1 percent for the game.

About the Pioneers: Cal State East Bay is coming off a split on the road, including an OT win at UC San Diego … CSUEB has wins over Humboldt State and Cal Poly Pomona this season … Mark Samuels scores 15.7 points per game (third in the CCAA). They have the CCAA's top defender (Roshun Wynne, 2.6 steals per game) and top 3-point shooter (Jason Smith, 3.8 per game).

Splitting Another Weekend
After a disappointing loss on Friday to Cal State L.A., the Warriors held off a Cal State Dominguez Hills comeback in a thrilling 59-58 victory on Saturday. It was the team's second straight weekend split.

Fuller Fully Recovered
After missing two games due to a strained quad the weekend before, Vince Fuller returned to the lineup last week in a big way. In his first start since the return on Saturday (he came off the bench on Friday), Fuller scored a career-high 18 points with 11 points in the first half to help the Warriors to a strong first half.

Where Did the Offense Go?
The Stanislaus offense has not as prolific as it had been earlier in the season. In the last three games (against UC San Diego, Cal State San Bernardino, and Cal State L.A.), the Warriors shot 34.7 percent with each game featuring some offensive draught.  Prior to the UCSD game, the Warriors were a 47.7 percent shooting team (with a 7-2 record) … Stanislaus is still third in the CCAA offensively, averaging 73.7 points per game.

Offensive Showdown in Hayward?
Saturday night's game in Hayward will feature two of the top three scoring teams in the CCAA. The Warriors are third with a 73.7 points per game average while Cal State East Bay ranks second with a 76.4 points per game average. East Bay is the second-worst defensive team, allowing 75.4 points per game.

Step Up the D
Despite shooting 37 percent for the game (22.2 in the first half) in Friday's loss against Cal State L.A. Coach Larry Reynolds felt a better defensive effort would have resulted in a win. Cal State L.A. shot 50 percent (51.9 in the first half) and built a 20-point lead. The Warriors got within six points with a minute left to play.

Sayad Hitting Bombs
Brett Sayad has his shooting touch back as he was nailing the long bombs. Sayad was a combined 7-for-13 in two games last weekend. He now has 24 treys with a 44.4 percent average, which is fourth best in the CCAA. The Warriors continue to lead the conference in three-point shooting percentage with a collective .392.

Jones Limited for the First Time
For the first time this season, Reggie Jones' play was limited in Saturday's game. Jones saw a total of 12 minutes of play, seven in the first half as he was battling foul trouble. He was just 3-for-5 from the floor and did not make it to the foul line for six points. Jones, however, still leads the conference in scoring (18.4 ppg).

Trends & Keys to Victories
The Warriors are now 6-2 this season with a halftime lead. They are also 7-2 when holding a lead with 5:00 left to play … Stanislaus has out-shot opponents 10 times this season and are 8-2 in those games … The Warriors have held opponents below 40 percent shooting eight times and are 7-1 … Stanislaus is 8-3 when shooting better than 40 percent.
