Series Notes vs. Cal State Monterey Bay: Cal State Stanislaus looks to continue its dominance over the Otters. The Warriors lead in the alltime series 18-2 (15-2 in CCAA play) after the 4-0 win over the Otters in Turlock on Sept. 16. Stanislaus is undefeated in the last five matches played in Seaside since 2007.
Series Notes vs. Cal State East Bay: The Warriors lead this series 9-2-1 alltime and 3-2 in the CCAA since the Pioneers began play in the conference in 2009. (CSUEB and CSUS only met once in 2009 and 2010). Stanislaus beat the Pioneers, 1-0, on Sept. 14 in Turlock.
One of the Best Eight, No. 1 in the West: Cal State Stanislaus moved up two spots to No. 8 in this week's Continental Tire/NSCAA Top 25. The Warriors are now No. 1 in the West Region in the poll conducted by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
Keep On Winning: The Warriors have exteneded their winning streak to seven matches and could match their program best of nine this weekend. The 2005 team won nine straight en ruote to a 10-1-1 record.
Explosive Offense: During the seven-match winning streak, the Warriors have scored four goals four times. They have outscored opponents 20-4 with four shutouts. The Stanislaus defense has recorded six shutouts this season.
Fresh Scorers: In Sunday's 4-0 win over Humboldt State, three freshmen scored first half goals to lead Stanislaus.
Nicole Bare and
Maecie Ireland scored their first collegiate goals and
Jordan Moineau netted her second.
When Demery Scores, Warriors Win: Cal State Stanislaus is now 25-3-3 when
Karenee Demery scored at least a goal in the game. Demery has scored a goal in each of the last four contests and has recorded at least a point in nine of 10 matches this season.
About Cal State Monterey Bay (5-4, 3-4 CCAA): The Otters have lost two straight after a successful Southern California trip the previous weekend. They were shutout twice last week at Cal Poly Pomona (4-0) and at home against Cal State East Bay (1-0). Andrea Davis has three of the team's nine goals.
About Cal State East Bay (4-4-1, 2-4-1 CCAA): Cal State East Bay split last weekend with a 2-1 loss at San Francisco State before a 1-0 win over Cal State Monterey Bay in Seaside. The Pioneers have outscored their opponents 16-11 with Shianna Falk leading the team in scoring with four goals and three assists.
