HAYWARD — Another Karenee Demery goal. Another superb defensive effort. Another win. One more shutout.

The 8th ranked Cal State Stanislaus women's soccer team continues to roll as the Warriors win their ninth straight with a 1-0 blanking of Cal State East Bay at Pioneer Stadium on Sunday.

"We played extremely well today. Our possession created an extraordinary number of chances," head coach Gabriel Bolton said.

Demery, the CCAA's leading scorer, netted the lone goal in the 24th minute as the Warriors improved to 11-1 overall and 7-1 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association.

The winning streak now ties the CSU Stanislaus women's soccer program best when the 2005 won nine straight en route to a 10-1-1 record. That means the 2012 team has now posted the program's best record after 12 matches.

Demery, who now leads the CCAA with 13 goals and 29 points, scored at 23:56 when she collected her own rebound on a shot that went off the post. She had gotten the pass from Allie Dugan, who was credited with the assist.

Cal State Stanislaus is now 26-3-3 when Demery scored at least a goal in the match during her career.

The Warriors continued to put on the offensive pressure despite not scoring for the remainder of the match. In all, Stanislaus out-shot CSUEB, 14-8 (8-2 on goal). Pioneers (4-6-1, 2-6-1 CCAA) goalkeepers had seven saves.

"One of the things that I appreciate about this team is that while we have our style of play we are also able to adapt," Bolton said.

The score was plenty for the Stanislaus defense as the group again shutdown its opponents to record another shutout — the seventh this season. During the nine-game winning streak, the Warriors have only alllowed four goals and never more than one in a match.

Millie Brown, who is in the top five in every CCAA goalkeeper statistic, had two saves as she continues to lower her goals-against-average, now at 0.57, with a saves percentage of .851.

"We battled very hard defensively and showed a lot of toughness," added Bolton.

Cal State Stanislaus, which concludes the stretch where it played five of six matches on the road, improved to 7-0 away from Warrior Stadium this season. The Warriors will host San Francisco State (Friday) and Cal Poly Pomona (Sunday) next weekend.
