HAYWARD — Cal State East Bay went deep eight times in the doubleheader as the Pioneers beat Cal State Stanislaus twice on Sunday to complete the weekend series sweep.

The Pioneers homered five times in game one on Sunday for a 10-2, five-inning, win. They then went yard three more times in game two en ruote to a 7-6 win in eight innings. Cal State East Bay bettered its records to 16-14 overall and 8-12 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association. The Warriors are now 11-26, 4-16 in the CCAA.

Taylor Neumann hit two home runs in game one and the Pioneers scored seven times -- with three consecutive home runs and a walk-off pinch hit home run by Heidi McCallister -- in the bottom of the fifth to end the game. Neumann now has 12 home runs this season.

Cal State Stanislaus managed three hits with singles by Sarah Locarnini, Brittani Weatherford and Kristan Burns. The Warriors scored a run in the first without a hit on two CSUEB errors and scored in the third on a single to center by Weatherford that scored Locarnini.

The Warriors offense fared much better in the nightcap, scoring in the first and five times in the second for a 6-0 lead. The five-run second included three hits and two Pioneer errors. The rally was highlighted by a two-run double by Weatherford, who had also doubled in the first to score Locarnini.

However, CSUEB chipped away at the lead, scoring in each of the second through sixth innings to tie the score at 6-6. The Pioneers threatened to end the game in the seventh with the bases loaded. With two outs, Natalie Rendon got an infield pop-up to end the rally.

After a 1-2-3 Warrior top of the eight, CSUEB prevailed in its final at-bat in the eighth when Sara Holdridge singled to center to score Jamie Yaller to end the game.

Weatherford ended up 2-for-4 with three RBI while Katelyn Johnson and Jordan Flora each also had two hits to lead Stanislaus.
