ARCATA — The Cal State Stanislaus women's soccer team won its fourth straight while remaining undefeated on the road as the Warriors beat Humboldt State, 2-1, Friday afternoon.

After trailing 1-0 in the first half, the No. 21 ranked Warriors scored two unanswered goals for the victory as they improved to 6-1 overall.

"We are very pleased to come away with a win against a quality team," head coach Gabriel Bolton said. "This is one of the toughest road trips in our conference. HSU plays with a lot of passion and energy. They are well organized and very well coached."

Karli Nestler scored her first goal of the year from 10 yards out off of a defensive clear during a Stanislaus corner kick try. That goal, which came in the 26th minute, immediately answered the Lumberjack score at 22:08.

Just 72 seconds into the second half, Karenee Demery scored the go-ahead and eventual game-winner. She flicked the shot over the goalkeeper from inside the six-yard box after receiving a cross from Emily Relles.

It was Demery's seventh goal of the season and Relles' fifth assist. Relles had assisted on two plays in Sunday's 4-0 win over Cal State Monterey Bay.

"We played some very attractive attacking soccer," said Bolton. "I was happy with our effort and energy."

Millie Brown picked up six saves and surpassed the 200 saves mark. She now has 204, which is good for third on the CSUS alltime list.

The Warriors out-shot the Lumberjacks 19-13 with 9-7 on-goal advantage. HSU goalkeeper Kelly Lukas had seven saves and the Lumberjack goal was scored by Lizzie Mitchell.

The win was also Stanislaus' third on the road in as many tries after the Warriors opened the year with two wins in the Pacific Northwest.

The Warriors extended their win-streak over HSU to six-matches and has out-scored the Lumberjacks 20-2 during that stretch.

Cal State Stanislaus will return home to Turlock before a trip to Rohnert Park on Sunday to take on the No. 2 ranked Sonoma State Seawolves.
