Perhaps a change of scenery will help the Warriors as they embark on a stretch where they will have to play eight of the next 10 CCAA games on the road. This week, the Road Warriors start in San Bernardino and La Jolla.

Returning to SoCal
To get back into the CCAA race during the first half of the conference season, the Warriors must now become Road Warriors as they will travel in four of the next five weekends. The next five away contests are all in Southern California.
Hoping to Reverse the Trend
Historically the Warriors are a better home team than they are on the road. We hope for the opposite this time around after they start the 2012-13 season just 1-5 in Turlock. Since 1998-99, Cal State Stanislaus is 97-92 at home but were just 52-132 in away contests. The Warriors did managed a couple of neutral site wins in Ontario during the Coyotes Holiday Classic.
Walters' Career Weekend
Marcus Walters turned in a not just a career-game but a career weekend last time out. He notched a career-high 20 points last Friday and followed it with a 26-point night the following night by going 11 for 18 from the field with four three-pointers. For the weekend, Walters went 18-for-32 (56.3 percent) from the field, 6-for-12 from the arch for a total of 46 points. He also had 17 rebounds with 12 offensive boards.
Taking the Three's
Cal State Stanislaus continues to live -- and die -- with its outside shooting. Last weekend, they took 51 three-pointers and made 17 in the two losses. During CCAA games, the Warriors rank eighth at 32.3 percent from beyond the arch.
Reynolds Homecoming
Friday night's game at Coussoulis Arena is a homecoming for head coach
Larry Reynolds. Reynolds coached at Cal State San Bernardino from 1997 to 2002, where he posted a 110-35 overall records with three CCAA titles. Since becoming the Warriors' head coach in 2009, Reynolds, and the Warriors are 0-3 at Coussoulis.
Taking Care of the Rock
One of the cateogries the Warriors are doing well in is ball-handling as they have only turned the ball over, on average, 11.4 times per game (10.5 in CCAA games). Those numbers are second best in the CCAA. Only Cal State San Bernardino ranks higher at 9.4 per game. Last weekend, the Warriors turned the ball over a total of 17 times in two contests.
Where Was the D?
Stanislaus opponents are coming out of the gate with hot shooting, or was it the Warrior defense? San Francisco State and Sonoma State both shot better than 50 percent in the first half last week (Sonoma State hit 57.1 percent of its shots). The Seawolves finished with a 64. percent for the game after hitting on 72.2 percent of their tries in the second half.
Rebound!
Cal State Stanislaus did not win the rebounding battle last weekend, which resulted in two setbacks. In all four wins this season, the Warriors out-rebounded their opponents. They also shot 48 percent or better in those four games (which did not happen last week).
