Returning to SoCal
The Warriors are making their second straight trip to Southern California this weekend. It is the team's third trip South. They are 4-0 in games played South of Turlock this season.

Officially the Road Warriors
Perhaps we should move all games away from Fitzpatrick Arena. The Warriors improved to 5-1 away from home this season after posting their first 2-0 weekend during the San Bernardino-La Jolla trip. The Warriors also have wins in Ontario and Chico in 2012-13.

First Time at Coussoulis
Last Friday, Cal State Stanislaus posted its first conference win inside Coussoulis Arena when the Warriors upset then-No. 15 (and undefeated in the CCAA) Cal State San Bernardino. It was the Warriors' first win in San Bernardino during conference play in 15 tries.

Walters is CCAA Player of the Week
For the second straight weekend, Marcus Walters posted career-numbers to help the Warriors win. This time he was rewarded as the Wilson/CCAA player of  the week. Walters matched his career high with 26 points (9-for-13 with 4 three-pointers) in the win over Cal State San Bernardino on Friday. He followed it with another 14 points at UC San Diego. For the weekend, he averaged 20 points and 5 rebounds.

Streaking Walters
In the last four games, Marcus Walters amassed 86 points and 27 rebounds for an average of 21.5 points and 6.8 rebounds per game during the stretch. His streak propelled him to the top 10 among all CCAA players in five offensive categories (see page 3).

Hodge Controls Inside Game
Last weekend, Nick Hodge was able to put together back to back great performances as he controlled the paint. He averaged 17.5 points, 7.5 rebounds per game,  including career-highs of 18 points and 11 boards for his first double-double on Friday. He shot 62.5 percent from the floor in two games.

A Third Scorer in Mitchell
Ray Mitchell adds to the 1-2-3 punch of the Warriors as he also enjoyed some recent scoring success. Mitchell, who has scored in double figures in seven of the last eight games, averaged 17 points a game last weekend. He picked up his first 20-point game on Saturday at UC San Diego.

Running the Plays
Walters, Mitchell and Hodge must have had some help hitting  those shots. Well, Sam Marcus was the one distributing the ball as the Warrior point guard dished off a career-high 11 assists on Friday and added seven on Saturday. Marcus leads the CCAA with 5.4 assists per game and now has 65 for the season.

Key Factors, Statistically Speaking
The keys to the Warriors' success in six victories this season came down to rebounding (5-1 when out-rebounding opponents), shooting 40 percent or better (6-2), out-shoot opponents (6-0), hold late leads (5-0 when leading with 5:00 to play) and score 71 points or more (5-0).
