Box Score TURLOCK — The Cal State Stanislaus men's basketball team picked up the long-awaited first home conference victory of the season as the Warriors beat Cal State East Bay, 80-70, Friday night inside Fitzpatrick Arena.
The Warriors continued their dominance over the Pioneers to improve to 7-8 overall and 4-7 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association.
With the win, coupled with losses by UC San Diego and Sonoma State, Cal State Stanislaus moved up from 10th to 7th place in the CCAA standings. The Warriors will have a chance to move up further at the conference halfway point on Saturday against Cal State Monterey Bay.
Wes Bartole made his living at the free throw line Friday night as he converted on 10 of 12 chances to finish with a career-high 16 points. He also grabbed 10 rebounds for his first double-double as a Warrior.
As a team, Cal State Stanislaus was 24-for-31 at the foul line.
Marcus Walters led the Warriors with 17 points and
Nick Hodge picked up his fifth double-digit game in the last six with 16 points. Walters made three of the team's six three-pointers.

Stanislaus led by as many as 13 points, 68-55, with a
Zeke DeBlase layup at 5:45 left to play before East Bay stagged a mini-comeback. The Pioneers cut that lead to 68-63 with an 8-0 run that was capped by a Jacari Whitfield score.
However, two
Sam Marcus buckets sandwiched a Walters trey went unanswered by CSUEB as the Warriors regained a cushion. A pair of Bartole free throws later, Stanislaus saw its largest lead of the night at 77-63 with 2:29 to go.
The Warriors improved their series record over CSU East Bay to 29-8 with a 7-0 mark during CCAA play since East Bay joined the conference in 2009.
Cal State Stanislaus was looking for its first home conference win of the year after going 0-5. The Warriors' only other victory here was on Nov. 14 in a 105-57 win over UC Merced.
