TURLOCK — Karenee Demery scored twice and assisted on a score as she led the No. 9 Cal State Stanislaus women's soccer team to an impressive 4-1 win over UC San Diego Friday night.

In front of the biggest crowd of the season with more than 1,200 fans, the Warrior women dominated the Tritons to stay undefeated. Cal State Stanislaus improved to 8-0-1 overall and 6-0-1 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association.

UC San Diego lost a regular season road match for the first time since 2010 — a string of 30 straight wins — and fell to 3-3-3 overall and 2-2-3 in the CCAA South.

"I was really please with every aspect of our play tonight. UCSD is a very tough and well coached team," CSUS head coach Gabriel Bolton said.

The Warriors, now 2-0-1 against UCSD in the last three matches played here at Warrior Stadium, host Cal Poly Pomona on Sunday at 2 p.m.

Demery got the offense going in the 7th minute, finishing a play from middle of the box after she sped ahead of defenders. Katelyn Nebesnick led Demery on a nice feed to earn the assist.

The three-time All-American then assisted on the second goal just six minutes later. Demery and Sabrina Williamson played give-and-go soccer with Williamson blasting a shot from 20 yards out over the goalkeeper's head for a 2-0 lead.

UCSD got a goal back before the end of the first half in the 19th minute on an unassisted goal by Kylene Hill.

Demery then scored again, knocking in her 10th goal of the season. After picking up the ball from a couple of touches by Tina Benson and Williamson, Demery dribbled around goalkeeper Kelcie Brodsky for the goal.

A pair of freshmen teamed up on the final count. Mikayla Clifford sent a pass through traffic to find Kirsten Coleman, who juked defenders to find the back of the net.

"Our ability to keep the ball really led to a lot of goal scoring opportunities tonight," Bolton said.

The potent Stanislaus offense has now out-scored opponents 27-6 — and the Warriors are doing it as a team. Demery has 10 goals, but nine other Warriors have also scored at least a goal.

On the other side of the ball, the defense continues to limit scoring opportunities by the opposition. The Warriors have now held teams to two or fewer shots on goals seven times including four straight matches.
