Box Score 2 SEASIDE — One day after scoring 18 runs in a doubleheader, the Warriors were shutout twice by No. 17 Cal State Monterey Bay on Saturday.
Cal State Stanislaus managed a total of six hits in the twinbill to drop the four-game set and fell to 6-6 overall and 1-3 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association.
CSU Monterey Bay (8-5, 3-1 CCAA) starter Cori Reinhardt gave up four hits in game one while striking out seven for the 8-0, six-inning win. Reinhardt also pitched the second game on Saturday and threw a two-hit shutout for a 2-0 Otter victory. These efforts came a day after she walked 10 batters and gave up 12 runs on nine hits over 6-plus innings of work in two games on Friday.
Four different Warriors collected safeties in game one with
Amy Droege going 1-2 with a double to go with three singles. Her double was quickly erased on the next at-bat when
Lauren Liming lined out to center for a double-play.
The Warriors reached scoring position only one other time in the first game. In the second inning, Warriors were left stranded on second and third with one out via two strikeouts.
In game two,
Cierrah Mullins led off the fourth with a single, moved to second on a passed ball and advanced to third on a wild pitch. But she would advance no further after a strikeout and two flyouts.
Liming was the only Warriors to have two hits on the day.
