9/29/2013 2:13:00 PM

Box Score TURLOCK — Sabrina Williamson's breakaway goal in the second overtime lifted the 11th ranked Warriors as Cal State Stanislaus stayed unbeaten after the 2-1 victory against Cal State Monterey Bay on Sunday.

Williamson, who assisted on an earlier goal on the day, picked up a pass from Karenee Demery and got a 1-on-1 chance against the CSUMB goalkeeper. She drew out Lily Garza and deposited the winner over her head with 3:06 left to play to help the Warriors improve to 7-0-1 on the year. Cal State Stanislaus remains in first place in the CCAA North at 5-0-1.

Demery lobbed a pass over two Otter defenders to set-up the Williamson play.

"Sabrina made a fantastic run and read Karenee's flick. That finish was brilliant," CSUS head coach Gabriel Bolton said.

The 7-0-1 start by the Stanislaus side marks the best record after eight matches in program history. The 2010 and 2012 teams both were 7-1-0. The 2012 team started 12-1-0.

Cal State Monterey Bay (3-4-1, 2-3-1 CCAA) managed to keep the Warriors off the scoreboard despite the Warriors taking many offensive chances in regulation.

The Otters got on the board frst at 58:40 when they converted on a free kick score just outside of the box. Kristen Womack tapped the ball to Jami Murray who blasted the shot past a diving Chelsea Lewandowski.

The Warriors answered right back in 14 seconds on the restart with Demery scoring her eighth goal assisted by Williamson.

"We responded like champions to the Monterey goal and being behind for the first time this season," Bolton said.

On the shot chart, the Warriors out-shot the Otters, 21-6 (3-0 in overtime and 6-0 in the first half). Stanislaus also took eight corner kicks to CSUMB's none.

Defensively, Stanislaus held its opponents to just two shots on goal. It is the third straight match and sixth time this season that the Warriors limited opponents to two shots on goal or less in a match.

"Sometimes you just need to grind out wins," added Bolton "Our team plays with a self confidence that helps it during adversity. There is a genuine belief we will be successful."

The Warriors will be home against next weekend against UC San Diego and Cal Poly Pomona. Friday's match versus UCSD is at 7 p.m. at Warrior Stadium.
