TURLOCK — Marcus Bell almost had a 20-20 as he and the Warriors rout previously undefeated Cal State L.A., 66-49, Friday night at Fitzpatrick Arena.

Bell scored 22 points and pulled career-high 18 rebounds for his sixth double-double of the year as the Warriors improved to 8-3 overall and 4-3 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association. Cal State L.A. suffered its first loss of the season during conference play and fell to 9-2, 6-1 CCAA, snapping a seven-game winning streak.

It was also Bell's sixth 20-point game this season after the 8-for-14 shooting night against the Golden Eagles. The senior center grabbed 15 defensive rebounds with three blocked shots and a steal for a stellar night.

Chris Read added 13 points, seven rebounds and three steals and Alek Carlson nailed three three-pointers for nine points to pace the Warriors.

The Warriors remain undefeated at home during the 2013-14 campaign, now at 5-0. It's the first time they've won five straight home games during the CCAA era.

Cal State Stanislaus maintained a double-digit lead in the second half for all but 46 seconds (34-26 at 19:04).

Carlson nailed all three of his three-pointers during a three-minute span early in the second half to spark the Stanislaus offense. His third, at 11:27, gave the Warriors their biggest lead at 56-34. The Warriors would match the 22-point margin late in the game, on a pair of Sam Marcus free throws with 2:39 left to go to make it 66-44.

CCAA scoring leader Quinton Watkins scored 21 points and James Tillman added 17 to account for 78 percent of the Golden Eagles' offense. Watkins entered the night with a 22.1 points per game average. The most effective three-point shooting team in the conference also struggled beyond the arch, hitting just 27.2 percent of those chances (3-for-11). Cal State L.A. had entered the night with a 40.2 percent average from long range.

The Warriors will try to make it six in-a-row at home on Saturday when they host Cal State Dominguez Hills.
