Box Score TURLOCK — Don't let the final score fool you. The Warriors were in command of Friday night's game against San Francisco State as they held on to beat the Gators, 66-61.

With another home court victory, Cal State Stanislaus improved to 9-0 at home this season and is now 12-5 overall and 8-5 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association. Stanislaus stays near the top of the CCAA standings in fourth place, tied with Cal State L.A.

The Warriors, led by four players in double-figures in scoring, will try to make it a perfect 10 on Saturday when they host Sonoma State (3-14, 2-11 CCAA).

Chris Read continues to stay hot as he led Stanislaus with 18 points for his fifth straight double-digit game. Rob Walters notched his fourth double-double in the last six games with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Marcus Bell and Clinton Tremelling each also scored 11 points. Bell grabbed nine rebounds.

The Warriors led by as many as 17 points with 7:25 to play in the second half after a Read layup. However, SF State clawed its way back in the game.

A 9-1 Gator run during a three-minute span — capped by a Nefi Perdomo's three-pointer — cut the Warriors' lead down to nine at 4:28. That lead would dwindle down to five points on a Calvin Otiono trey with 11 ticks left. A pair of Read free throws finally seal the win for the Warriors.

Stanislaus shot 48.3 percent in the first half — at one point at about 57 percent — to run out to a lead as large as 13. Tremelling and Alek Carlson had three three-pointers during a streatch in the middle of the first to spark the team offensively. The duo of sharp-shooters combined to hit five three-pointers on the night to help the Warriors' perimeter game.

Otiono led SF State (9-7, 7-6 CCAA) with 20 points, including four of his team's 10 three-pointers. Nefi Perdomo, who had 27 points back on Dec. 7 against the Warriors in San Francisco State, was held to seven points. Perdomo averages 20.8 points per game entering the weekend.
