Senior Night: The Warriors will recognize five seniors playing in their final regular season home match at Warrior Stadium Thursday night. Seniors
Karli Nestler,
Tina Benson,
Lauren Thornton, Keisha Lyons and
Katelyn Nebesnick will be honored in pregame.
Series Notes: The Warriors blanked Cal State East Bay, 4-0, in the regular season finale at Warrior Stadium last season to improve to 12-2-1 all-time against the Pioneers. Since the Pioneers joined the CCAA in 2009, the Warriors are 6-2-0 against them with a perfect 4-0 record at Warrior Stadium, outscoring them 10-0 in those four matches.
Last Time Against the Opponents: After an own goal to start the second half (44 seconds in), the Warriors blew out the Pioneers, 4-0, on Nov. 3, 2013.
Karenee Demery scored twice within a five-minute window and
Kirsten Coleman capped-off the night with a score in the 79th minute. Stanislaus held CSUEB to just two wide shots.
What's At Stake: Cal State Stanislaus must win Thursday night's game to have a chance to play in the upcoming CCAA conference tournament. There is a chance to get in with a tie, but the Warriors will also need some help from around the league. Here are the scenarios where the Warriors could advance to the conference event:
• A Stanislaus win and a loss by UC San Diego (vs. Cal State Dominguez Hills)
• A Stanislaus win and a Sonoma State loss or tie (at San Francisco State)
• A Stanislaus tie and a UC San Diego loss
In the Rankings: The Warriors returned to the NSCAA Top 25 this week at No. 24. Last week the Warriors fell out of the poll for the first time in 22 regular season weeks … Stanislaus is also No. 4 in the NSCAA Regional poll and more importantly, the Warriors hold on to the No. 5 spot in the NCAA West Region poll, which determines teams invited to play in the NCAA Tournament (top six advances) … Cal State L.A. moved up to No. 5 (from No. 7) despite being shut-out by the Warriors on Friday. Cal State San Bernardino is at No. 21 and Sonoma State is out of the poll … Regionally, L.A. is the top team, followed by Western Washington and San Bernardino. The Warriors are ahead of Sonoma State and Chico State.

Monkey Off Our Backs: Jade Poon ended the Warriors' scoreless draught in the 16th minute in Sunday's 2-0 win over Cal State Dominguez Hills to get her team back on the scoreboard. The Warriors had gone four straight matches without a goal after scoring four goals in back-to-back contests against Sonoma State and UC San Diego.
Poon Nets Her 12th: Freshman
Jade Poon also scored for the first time since Oct. 5, a stretch of five matches without a goal. Despite the slump, Poon still leads the CCAA with 12 goals this season. Only
Karenee Demery, who had 19 goals her freshman year, scored more goals as a Warrior freshman … Poon also leads the CCAA with 27 points and is second with 52 shots.
Another Team Shutout: The two impressive shut-outs this past weekend are the Warriors' 7th and 8th as a team. Only Cal Poly Pomona (11), Cal State L.A. (10) and Cal State San Bernardino (9) have more …
Chelsea Lewandowski is credited with five of the team's shutouts and
Katie Foster has the other three. Lewandowski now has 15 in her career.
About Cal State East Bay (6-9-2, 3-7-0 CCAA): The Pioneers had lost four straight before last Friday's 2-0 win over Cal State Dominguez Hills. CSUEB then lost to Cal State L.A., 4-0, on Sunday … Megan Ravenscroft has seven of the team's goals and goalkeeper Selena Braun has 66 saves.
