Marcus Bell effortlessly put up another double-double and
Sam Marcus were just about perfect as the duo helped the Warriors win a lopsided game over Cal State East Bay, 92-61, Friday night.
Bell again controlled the paint and scored 23 points and pulled 15 rebounds while Marcus tied a career-high with 22 points as the Wariors win by 31 points to improve to 15-8 overall and 11-8 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association.
The Warriors stay in a tie for fourth place in the CCAA standings with Cal State L.A. heading into Saturday night's game at Cal State Monterey Bay (9-13, 7-12 CCAA).
Bell shot 7 of 12 from the field and made 9 of 12 free throws. He also grabbed 15 of the team's 41 rebounds as the Warriors dominated the boards. It was Bell's 14th double-double this season and the 12th time he's scored 20 or more points (four out of the last five games). Bell also had four blocked shots.
As for Marcus, he was perfect. He made all nine of his field goal tries and was 4-for-4 from the three-point arc. The only shot he missed all night was a free throw attempt. He also had five assists.
The Warriors shot a blazing 18-for-28 in the first half en route to a 58.5 percent night. Stanislaus went to the line 24 times in the second half and the Warriors converted 18 free throws.
Chris Read scored 16 points and
Tyler Barber had 10 to chip in for the Warriors.
Cal State East Bay (7-18, 4-15 CCAA) got 15 points from Jarred Jourdan but as a team shot just 31 percent on the night.
