Warriors lost twice in San Francisco

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 SAN FRANCISCO — The Cal State Stanislaus softball team lost twice on Wednesday in a make-up doubleheader against San Francisco State.

Despite pounding out 14 hits, the Warriors lost 3-2, in 10 innings in game one. Then the Gators were all over Stanislaus starter Natalie Rendon en route to a nightcap, 8-0, in in five innings.

The Warriors fell to 10-19 overall and 6-14 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association. SF State is 9-18, 5-11 CCAA. Wednesday's games were make-ups of March 2 scheduled contests that were rained out.

Melissa Robles wemt 3-for-6 and Brianna Nicholson was 3-for-5 in game one of the doubleheader. However, SF State scored in the bottom of the first to even the score at 1-1 to force extra innings.

Stanislaus went back up on top in the top of the 10th on a Cassidy Duke infield single that scored Nicholson, who had led off the inning with a single. But SF State scored twice in its final at bats for the walk-off extra inning win.

The Gators got three runs in the second to make it 4-0 in game two and finished off the Warriors with a run in the third and three more in the fifth.

SFSU's Megan Clark allowed just three singles in five innings for the shoutout win.

The Warriors travel to face Sonoma State this weekend in Ronhert Park.
