Cassidy Duke had three hits in the doubleheader but the Warriors dropped two close games, 6-2 and 5-4, to Sonoma State on Saturday.
Holli Brown's walkoff bases loaded single in the seventh of game two stopped the Warriors from avoiding the series sweep as the Seawolves took two mroe games from the Cal State Stanislaus.
The Warriors were looking to finally come away from a close-game but were not able to hold a 4-3 lead into the final inning. Cal State Stanislaus dropped to 10-23 overall and 6-18 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association.
Duke went 2-for-4 in the night-cap with a RBI single in the seventh that gave Stanislaus a 4-3 lead — that scoring inning followed a two-run sixth by the Warriors with RBIs by
Deenah San Luis and
Brittney Rickles.
Megan Konieczka went 2-for-3 in game one and 3-for-4 in game two to lead Sonoma State (23-11, 14-10 CCAA).
Amy Droege and
Brianna Nicholson each doubles in the nighcap and
Cierrah Mullins tripled in the opener to account for the extra base hits.
