About the Golden Eagles: Cal State L.A. lost their last two games at home against Central Washington and Cal State San Bernardino … Chiara DiMarco tops the team with 14.3 points with a 45.7 shooting percentage. She's also made 32 of 36 free throws.

Last Next We Meet... will be the Warriors' first trip to San Marcos when they visit on Jan. 23. The game will be at MirCosta College as the new Sports Center is under construction (opening September, 2016).

About the Cougars: Cal State San Marcos's last game was on Dec. 12, a win at Chico State, 71-63 … Savannah Camp leads the team with 16.1 points, which is third best in the CCAA, and 6.3 rebounds … Ashley Jenkins also averages in double digits with 10.3 points. She also had 29 assists and 12 steals this season.

Warriors Notes
Home Sweet Home: Stanislaus State has won all three games played at the Ed & Bertha Fitzpatrick Arena this season. They won three straight within a week, from Nov. 29 to Dec. 3, over Holy Names, Fresno Pacific and Cal State San Bernardino.

A Decemeber to Forget: After a 5-2 start, the Warriors went 1-2 in games that counted and 1-4 in all games during the month of December — all of them on the road. Those games included two exhibition contests at Division I Fresno State and Pacific.

Playing on New Year's Weekend: The Warriors will be playing in their first New Year's Day game during the CCAA era. Stanislaus has played on Jan. 2 five times before, with the most recent last Jan. 2 in a 81-68 loss at UC San Diego. This weekend's games are also the Warriors' firsts on home court to start the new calendar since 2010.

Warriors' Games on Jan. 2
2004 (Fri.)    vs. SF State    W, 59-54
2009 (Fri.)    at CSUSB    L, 43-46
2010 (Sat.)    vs. Cal Poly Pomona    L, 52-58
2012 (Mon.)    at Chico State    W, 69-68
2015 (Fri.)    at UC San Diego    L, 68-81

Burch Hitting Stride: Ana Burch has been the most consistent player in recent games as she's scored 10 points in each of the last three games that counted. In the two exhibition games, she scored 8 at Pacific and 10 at Fresno State, giving her 48 points in the last five games. Burch leads the team with five double-digit scoring games this season.

Nailing The Three's: Alysa Valentine was unconscious on Dec. 5 at San Francisco State as she made eight three-pointers in a game to set a new Stanislaus State record. After missing her first attempt, she burried eight straight treys, setting another school record. Both marks also tied two CCAA records as she finished 8 for 9 on the night and a career-high 26 points.

The Best Quarter: The third quarter seems to be the Warriors' best so far this year as they have scored 191 points in the period after halftime. That total accounts for 29.8 percent of all scoring … the team's best single quarter output, though, was 30, when they out-scored SF State, 30-7 (Alysa Valentine only had two three-pointers in that quarter).

Not-So-Hot Offense: The Warriors ranked among the bottom in offense after four CCAA games in 2015. They are last in field goal percentage (33.5) and free throw percentage (58.9). Stanislaus is 11th in scoring at 56.3 points per game.

Defense Won Games: The Warriors have been coming up with the wins, thanks mostly to their defense. After four CCAA games, the Warriors have allowed just 60.8 points a game  (6th) with the second most steals (9.8 per game) and fourth most blocks (3.3) … Stan State also leads the CCAA with 15.3 offensive rebounds per contest.

Warriors At Home: The Warriors have a solid record when playing at home over the years and are now off to a 3-0 record during the 2015-16 season. Since 1998, the Warriors have won more games at home than on the road in all but one season (2013-14).
