About the Gators: San Francisco State split last weekend at home and are 2-2 so far in 2016. … Cole Apsay is 25-for-26 (.962) on the free throw line in CCAA games … Apsay averages 11.3 points a game.

Warriors Notes

Home Sweet Home: The Stanislaus men are looking forward to playing at home after the grueling road trip last week at Pomona and Arcata. The Warriors would love to post its second (and third) win of 2016 at home, where they are 2-3 this season.

Starting Out Fast...In both games last week on the road, the Warriors started out fast with early leads before the stronger home team took over. Against Cal Poly Pomona on Thursday, the Warriors had a 13-4 lead six minutes into the game. At Humboldt State, the Warriors led 19-6 nine minutes into the contest.

Bounce Back Against Familiar Foes: The Warriors could have a nice bounce-back weekend, facing two programs they have had recent success against. Stanislaus has won four straight over Sonoma State and won three of the last four meetings against San Francisco State in Turlock.

Two More Double-Digits Games: Sophomore guard Christian Bayne continues to put up the points consistently as he has scored in double-digits in all 13 games and leads the team with a 14.7 points per game average. Despite being a little off with the shooting last week, Bayne netted 11 points both nights. He made all six free throw attempts at Pomona.

Offensive Struggles: The Warriors have now been out-shot in the last three games, all resulted in losses. They are averaging 60 points a game in these three games while allowing 73.7 per contest. Stanislaus ranks 10th in CCAA games in both points per game (63.3) and field goal percentage (.402). The Warriors are also 10th on the free throw line with a 66.2 percentage.

Expect Some Close Games: Stanislaus, San Francisco State and Sonoma State are pretty evenly matched, statistically, which could result in some very close games. These three teams ranked ninth through 11th in the CCAA in scoring (66.4 to 62.1 per game) with a scoring margin between -0.1 and -4.8 on average. Sonoma State does have the second best scoring defense average of 62.3 points … The last three games between Stanislaus and Sonoma State were decided by an average margin of five points.

Bayne Among the Best in CCAA: Christian Bayne has put himself all over the leaderboards among the CCAA players. He's in the top 12 in eight different categories, including No. 2 in three-point field goal percentage (.516), fifth in assists per game (3.6) and seventh in defensive rebounds (5.0). He's 10th in the conference in scoring with 14.0 points per game (during CCAA games only).

Gouveia One of the Top Inside Guys: Kyle Gouveia can be considered one of the top post players in the CCAA, at least on defense. Despite averaging just 7.2 points a game (the top 50 players are at 7.4 or better), Gouveia is eighth in total rebounding (6.5 per game), second in offensive boards (3.0) and ties for third in blocked shots with 1.3 per game. Saturday at Humboldt State, he scored 10 points and had his fifth eight-plus rebound game this season.
