CELEBRATING 20 YEARS: Stan State women's soccer will officially celebrate its 20th season Friday night when a large group of former Warriors will be in attendance. The alums will be recognized at halftime of the match. The Warriors' program was established in 1998, which was also Stanislaus State athletics' first season in the CCAA. The Warriors are 201-155-36 all-time. The Warriors won two CCAA Championships (2011, 2013) and captured the West Region championship in 2014.
KICK CANCER: Friday night's contest is also the annual Kick Cancer Night when the Warriors host Cal State San Bernardino. Fans are encouraged to wear pink and make a donation towards the American Cancer Society. Limited edition of the pink Warrior T-Shirts will be available for purchase, with proceeds benefiting the American Cancer Society.
ONE MORE SHUTOUT: Sunday night's 0-0 score meant another shutout for the Warriors' goalkeepers with Alyssa Herrman recording the clean sheet this time. She has two shutouts and Haley Crook three, giving the team five total, which is fifth best in the conference.
OFFENSIVE TEAM: Despite not scoring in their only game last week, the Warriors remain one of the top scoring teams in the conference. Stan State is third with 20 goals this season (Sonoma State leads with 25, UC San Diego 21) … Jade Poon, who has not scored since Sept. 10 versus Central Washington, is still tied for second most in goals behind only Cal State L.A.'s Paulina Chaidez (8).
