Sonoma State holds the all-time record over Stanislaus, 16-8-5 … The Warriors have dominated Humboldt State in the teams' history with a 15-6-0 mark, including winning 12 of the last 13 meetings with an 11-game winning streak from 2009 to 2014. AGAINST RANKED TEAMS: Stan State is so far 0-1 against a nationally ranked team. The Warriors lost at #19 UC San Diego, 1-0, back on Sept. 17. Last year Stanislaus was 0-3 against ranked teams (twice to UC San Diego). The last time the Warriors tied a ranked team was on Oct. 23, 2015 at Sonoma State (No. 8) and the last time they beat a ranked team was on Oct. 5, 2014 when the Warriors defeated #8 Sonoma State, 4-3, in double overtime in Turlock.
HOME STRETCH COMING UP: After this week's trip, the Warriors will finally be home for five consecutive matches at Warrior Stadium. Stan State will begin the five-match homestand on Sunday, Oct. 8 in a non-conference tilt against UC Santa Cruz and it concludes on Oct. 22 in the regular season home finale.
STILL UNBEATEN AGAINST SF STATE: With the 0-0 tie on Sunday, the Warriors extended the program's unbeaten streak against San Francisco State to an amazing record of 18-0-6 over the last 16 years. The Warriors have shutout SF State in six straight meetings. The last time a Gator team defeated Stanislaus, most of the current Warriors were in diapers (2000).
CROOK SAVED PK: One of the major reasons why the Warriors kept SF State from winning on Sunday was goalkeeper
Haley Crook, who stopped a penalty kick attempt with 40 minutes left to play in regulation time. Crook dove to her right to bat away a Bianca Lowe attempt to keep the score at 0-0. Crook ended up with four saves in the game for a clean sheet and her ninth career shutout.
AMONG THE CCAA LEADERS: Despite not scoring since Sept. 10,
Jade Poon remains second in the CCAA in points with 14 (6 goals, 2 assists), one point behind Cal State L.A.'s Paulina Chaidez, who has seven goals and an assist …
Julia Cummings is tied for second with three assists …
Haley Crook is ninth with a .969 GAA and eighth with a .806 saves percentage. She's also fifth with 3.63 saves per game.
ABOUT THE OPPONENTS: Sonoma State's only defeat this season was a 1-0 overtime loss at Cal State Monterey Bay. They have won three straight matches outscoring teams 9-0 since the loss. Three Seawolves each have three goals to their credit, led by Sara Van Wagnoer who also has three assists for nine points. Goalkeeper Kristen Spear has a 0.33 GAA (2nd best in CCAA). She's only allowed three goals with six shutouts … Humboldt State is coming off a 4-0 win over Benedictine-Mesa last Sunday. They had also lost to Embry-Riddle, 1-0, last Friday. HSU's last CCAA match was a 2-0 loss to Sonoma State on Sept. 20. Alex Jenkins leads the team with four goals.
