CROSS COUNTRY TEAMS RETURN TO THE COURSE THIS SATURDAY AT THE BRONCO INVITATIONAL
Both Stan State men's and women's cross country teams will return to the course this Saturday, October 15 for the final time this regular season at the Bronco Invitational in Sunnyvale, Calif.  The Warriors' women are eighth in the nation and first in the region.  They are led by Kaela Dishion.  Stan State's men are led by Medhane Woldu.
 
VOLLEYBALL FINISHES WEEK 3-0
Stan State's volleyball team went 3-0 this past weekend in its two matches versus Chico State and non-conference match versus Dominican.  The Warriors started the week with a four-set win at Chico State on Wednesday behind Macky Morris' 11 kills and Haley Burdo's seven service aces and 24 assists.  They came back with a three-set win over Chico State at home on Friday. Ellison Weaver had nine kills while Gabby Rawson recorded 18 digs.  Stan State finished with a three-set win at Dominican on Saturday. Burdo had 31 assists with Makenna Carrillo recording five service aces and Rawson with 17 digs.  The Warriors are now 15-5 overall and 6-4 in the CCAA.
 
WOMEN'S SOCCER POSTS TWO DRAWS
The Warrior women's soccer team had two draws this week in their two matches.  Stan State is now 5-3-4 overall and 2-2-2 in the CCAA.  The Warriors started the week with a 1-1 draw at Cal Poly Humboldt.  Jackzeny Mancilla scored her second goal of the season off a ball from Taylor Lucas for their only goal.  They came back and played to a scoreless draw with Chico State.  Alexia Estrada had eight saves in goal for the Warriors en route to her fourth shutout.
 
MEN'S SOCCER ENTERS WEEK 4-5-4
Stan State men's soccer team is now 4-5-4 overall and 1-4-1 in the CCAA after dropping both of its matches this week.  The Warriors lost 3-0 at Cal Poly Humboldt on Thursday.  Sammy Villanueva had three shots on goal attempts for Stan State.  On Sunday, Stan State lost 2-0 to Chico State with Finn Hoffmann recording two shots on goal attempts.
 
MEN'S GOLF AND WOMEN'S TENNIS IN ACTION THIS WEEK
Both Stan State men's golf team and women's tennis team will be in action this week.  The Warriors' golf team is in Marysville, Calif., as they are participating in the Wildcat Invitational at the Peach Tree Golf & Country Club today and Tuesday.  Stan State women's tennis team will be in San Rafael on Saturday and Sunday participating in the Dominican Hidden Duals.
 
WARRIOR HOOPS STARTS PRACTICE THIS SATURDAY, OCTOBER 15
Both Stan State men's and women's basketball teams will begin their practice this Saturday, October 15.  The Warrior men's basketball teams will be in Fresno for an exhibition game on November 2 versus Fresno State.  They will have their home opener on November 11 at 7:30pm versus Point Loma.  Stan State women's basketball team will begin their season in Nampa, Idaho, at Northwest Nazarene on November 11. The Warriors' home opener will be at 7pm versus Holy Names on November 19.  Both team's CCAA opener will be at Chico on November 26.  The Warriors are hosting the CCAA Basketball Championships, March 2-4.
 
BURDO AND GOMEZ ARE THIS WEEK'S STAN STATE WARRIORS' STUDENT-ATHLETES OF THE WEEK
Stan State volleyball player Haley Burdo and men's soccer player Daniel Garcia are this week's Stan State Warriors' Student-Athletes of the Week. 
 
Haley Burdo 2022 head shotBurdo played a huge role in the Warriors' 3-0 week. She started the week with 24 assists and seven aces in Stan State's four-set win at Chico on Wednesday.  Burdo came back with 19 assists, four service aces, four kills and six digs in the Warriors' three-set win at home on Friday versus the Wildcats. She finished the week with 31 assists and six digs along with three kills in their three-set win at Dominican. 
 





Daniel Gomez 2022 HeadshotGomez started in both matches for the Warriors at Cal Poly Humboldt and versus Chico State this week.  In both matches, Gomez had an 89% pass completion rate for Stan State.  For the season, he has started in 13 matches while recording nine shot attempts including five on-goal.
