CLOVIS, Calif. — Stan State track & field turned in a strong showing at the West Coast Relays, highlighted by an NCAA provisional mark in the men's 4x100 relay, a national qualifying performance in the long jump, and multiple all-time marks in the program record book.
The Warriors' 4x100 relay team of Ivan Mendoza, Blayne Siebert, Jaevin Sawyer, and Andrew Bishop delivered the headline performance of the meet, clocking 40.57 to set a new Stan State school record. The mark meets the NCAA provisional qualifying standard and currently ranks eighth in NCAA Division II, establishing the quartet among the nation's top relay units.
"We had a great day across the board culminating with new top ten rankings, a school record and three national qualifying marks in the men's 4x100m and Eric Green in the long jump," said Troy Johnson, head coach of Stan State women's indoor and men's and women's outdoor track & field. "Great job by all the event groups and coaches."
In the sprints, Andrew Bishop continued his standout season, running 10.50 in the 100 meters to move to No. 3 all-time in Stan State history, and hit the National Qualifying mark. Blayne Siebert (10.73) and Jaevin Sawyer (10.71) added strong performances to round out the sprint group. In addition, Bishop added another standout performance on the track, clocking a 21.11 in the 200 meters to meet the NCAA provisional qualifying standard. The mark also moves him into No. 3 all-time in Stan State history, capping a strong weekend for the Warriors' sprint group.
The men's jumps group delivered one of the top performances of the meet, led by Eric Green, who recorded a 24-2.5 (7.38m) mark in the long jump to hit an NCAA provisional qualifying standard.
On the women's side, Ahlia Albergottie posted a 1:03.70 in the 400-meter hurdles, moving into No. 9 all-time in program history, while also running 15.29 in the 100-meter hurdles.
In the throws, Alexis Nino led the way with marks of 173-11 (53.03m) in the hammer, 44-7.5 (13.60m) in the shot put, and 108-11 (33.20m) in the discus, continuing her strong outdoor campaign. Mason Phillips paced the men's throws with a 51-5.5 (15.68m) mark in the shot put, while also adding throws of 162-6 (49.55m) in the hammer and 140-1 (42.70m) in the discus.
Luke Giannotta added a 170-2 (51.87m) mark in the hammer and 140-1 (42.70m) in the discus, while Logan Edwards recorded 156-1 (47.58m) in the hammer and 132-3 (40.32m) in the discus. Donielle Willis, Sienna Hawkins, and Grace Lagenfeld contributed additional marks on the women's side, with Lagenfeld recording 132-0 (40.24m) in the hammer.
The distance group continued to show strength, led by Patricio Kearney, who ran 1:59.37 in the 800 meters and 4:04.32 in the 1500 meters. Evan Silva (4:07.89) and Gurdave Pandher (4:07.34) added strong performances in the 1500 meters, while Austin Hein posted 2:00.04 in the 800 meters and 4:11.09 in the 1500 meters.
On the women's side, Megan Silva led the group with a 4:36.93 in the 1500 meters, followed by Izzy Soto (4:39.75) and Crystal Hernandez (4:40.08). Stevie Holguin (4:42.43) and Isabela Moreno (4:45.15) added depth, while Bianca Scott (4:53.67), Roseli Diaz (4:53.02), and Aubrey Webb (5:01.34) contributed strong finishes.
Stan State continues to build momentum across all event groups as the outdoor season progresses, with several athletes positioning themselves among the conference and national leaders.
