WOMEN'S BASKETBALL TO HOST WARRIOR CLASSIC THIS WEEKEND
Stan State women's basketball team will host the Warrior Classic this Friday-Saturday, November 18-19 at Fitzpatrick Arena. The first game on Friday will have Cal State East Bay facing Academy of Art at 5pm. The Warriors will host Holy Names at 7pm. On Saturday at 1pm, Cal State East Bay will face Holy Names followed by Stan State hosting Academy of Art at 3pm. The official tournament website is

MEN'S BASKETBALL ENTERS THEIR HOME GAME WITH DOMINICAN, 1-1
The Warrior men's basketball team enters their home game this Tuesday versus Dominican with a 1-1 record. Stan State split its opening weekend in the Stanislaus State Crossover Classic. In their first game on Friday, the Warriors lost 73-62 to Point Loma with Kobe Ordonio leading the way with 21 points.
Will Pallesi chipped in 10 points off the bench. Stan State finished the weekend with a 65-57 win over Fresno Pacific. Marlon Short paced the Warriors with 18 points. Ordonio added 16 points and Tony Singleton chipped in 12 points for Stan State. The Warriors will host Dominican on Tuesday, November 15 at 7:30pm in their final game of the three-game home stand.
At halftime of the men's game on Tuesday, the Stan State Department of Athletics will be recognizing the 2022 Stan State Women's Cross Country CCAA Championship Team.
VOLLEYBALL ENDS SEASON AT CCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS
Stan State's volleyball team ended its 2022 season a four-set loss to No. 23 Cal Poly Pomona in the quarterfinals of the CCAA Volleyball Championships. The Warriors lost to the Broncos, who ended up winning the CCAA Championship Tournament, 20-25, 21-25, 26-24, 23-25. Macky Morris had 12 kills with Autumn Kirby adding six total blocks. Bella Isaia recorded 20 digs and Haley Burdo had 25 assists. The Warriors finished the season with a 19-10 overall record and had the highest winning percentage (.655) in Stan State volleyball history.
SOME MORE HONORS FOR THE WARRIORS
Members of the Stan State volleyball, men's basketball, and women's cross country team received some honors last week. Autumn Kirby was named to the CCAA Volleyball Championship All-Tournament Team. Kobe Ordonio was selected to the Stanislaus State Crossover Classic All-Tournament Team. Stan State head women's cross country coach Darren Holman was named the CCAA Women's Cross Country Coach of the Year for the second year in a row.
CROSS COUNTRY PREPARING FOR THE NCAA DIVISION II WEST REGIONALS
Both the Stan State men's and women's cross country teams are in their final preparation for the NCAA Division II West Regional Cross Country Championships which are set for this Saturday, November 19 at Amend Park in Billings, Montana. The men's race will commence at 10am (MT) with the women's to follow at 11:15am (MT).
Stan State women's team, which is ranked eighth in the nation, captured the CCAA Title two weeks ago in Carmel for the second year in a row. Kaela Dishion was named the CCAA Runner of the Year for the second year in a row and Najwa Chouati was the conference's Newcomer of the Year. Joining Dishion and Chouati on the All-CCAA Team were Kayden Legan and Yahaira Zuniga. The men finished fourth at the CCAA Championships with Medhane Woldu and
Cristian Alcantar earning All-CCAA honors. Cooper Freeman was the conference's Freshman of the Year.
JACKSON AND ORDONIO ARE THIS WEEK'S STAN STATE WARRIOR STUDENT-ATHLETES OF THE WEEK
A pair of Stan State basketball players are this week's Stan State Warrior Student-Athletes of the Week in Makayla Jackson and Kobe Ordonio.

Jackson averaged 11.5 points and 2.0 rebounds in the Warriors' two games in Nampa, Idaho, to open the 2022-23 season. She scored 13 points, dished out three assists, grabbed three rebounds and recorded one steal in the Warriors' 63-55 loss to Northwest Nazarene. The freshman guard finished her weekend scoring 10 points in Stan State's 86-62 loss to Central Washington.

Ordonio was named to the Stanislaus State Crossover Classic All-Tournament Team. He averaged 18.5 points, 3.5 steals and 3.5 rebounds per game in the Warriors' first two games of the regular season. In the Warriors' loss to Point Loma, he scored 21 points and grabbed five rebounds. He finished the weekend scoring 16 points, dishing out five assists and recording four steals in the Warriors' win over Fresno Pacific.
