NEW ORLEANS, La.--- Stan State women's cross country team moved one spot to the seventh spot in this week's NCAA Division II Women's Cross Country National Coaches Poll as released by the United States Track & Field Cross County Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) this morning.  This is the eighth straight week that the Warriors are in the top 15 in the nation.

Stan State, coached by Darren Holman, captured the 2022 NCAA Division II West Regional Title this past weekend in Billings, Mont., to punch their ticket to the NCAA Division II National Cross Country Championship on December 2 in University Center, Wash.

Four Warriors finished in the top 25 at the regionals to earn All-West Region honors in Kaela Dishion (fifth, 21:13.8), Najwa Chouati (sixth, 21:23.7), Kayden Legan (tenth, 21:32.4) and Yahaira Zuniga (eighteenth, 21:43).  Two weeks prior to the regionals, those four earned All-CCAA honors by placing in the top ten at the CCAA Championships in helping the Warriors capture their second consecutive conference title.

This year's nationals will be a part of the NCAA Division II Fall Festival, hosted by Seattle Pacific University, in Seattle, Wash.  The cross country championships will be held on Friday, December 2 at 11:15am at Chambers Creek Regional Park in University Center, Wash. The 6K race will be streamed live on www.ncaa.com. Live results can be viewed at https://results.leonetiming.com/xc.html?mid=5313.
