KENOSHA, Wisc.--- The Stanislaus State women's cross country team capped off an impressive 2025 season with a 12th-place team finish at the NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships on Saturday morning at the Wayne E. Dannehl National Cross Country Course. Junior standout Annie Wild led the way with a historic performance, finishing 24th overall to earn All-America honors — becoming the fourth All-American in program history.
Competing against the nation's best in cool, 45-degree conditions, the No. 22-ranked Warriors totaled 403 points to place 12th among the 34-team field — their highest national finish since also placing 12th at the 2021 NCAA Championships in Saint Leo, Florida.
Wild, who has been Stan State's top runner throughout the season, ran a stellar race from start to finish, covering the 6K course in 20:52.3 to secure her All-America honor and cap a remarkable year. This marks Wild's third All-America award of 2025 — she was the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field national champion in the mile last March and earned Outdoor All-America honors in May with a fifth-place finish in the 1,500 meters. Her cross country performance completes a standout calendar year that has firmly established her among the best distance runners in program history.
Jacqueline Sanchez-Silva continued her strong postseason with a 68th-place finish in 21:28.4, while Izzy Soto (116th, 22:02.1), Stevie Holguin (123rd, 22:05.5), and Bela Moreno (154th, 22:22.6) completed the team's scoring five. Crystal Hernandez finished 204th in 22:54.2 to round out the Warriors' lineup.
Adams State's Tristian Spence won the individual national title, covering the 6K course in 20:11.0. Grand Valley State captured the team title followed by Colorado School of Mines, Wingate, Adams State and Western Colorado.
Wild joins an elite list of Stanislaus State All-Americans that includes Susan Carey (25th in 1990), Carrie Luis (15th in 1994), and Kaela Dishion (34th in 2022), adding her name to the program's distinguished history.
The 12th-place national finish punctuated another outstanding campaign for Stanislaus State, which earned its fourth NCAA berth in the past five seasons and maintained a top-25 national ranking throughout the fall. The Warriors opened the year with a victory at the Kim Duyst Twilight, added runner-up finishes at the UC Riverside and SF State Invitationals, and placed second at both the CCAA Championships and NCAA West Regional.
Led by Wild's All-America effort and the team's trademark depth and balance, Stanislaus State once again proved itself among the nation's elite — closing the 2025 season as one of the premier programs in NCAA Division II cross country.
Stanislaus State women's cross country has appeared in the NCAA Division II National Championships six times, with its best finishes being 12th place in both 2021 and 2025. The Warriors have also qualified in 2003, 2012, 2022, and 2024, continuing a proud tradition of postseason excellence.
