NEW ORLEANS, La. — The Stan State women's cross country program, coached by
Darren Holman, earned national academic recognition as the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced its 2025 NCAA Division II All-Academic Team honors.
In addition to the team accolade,
Nina Furtado,
Crystal Hernandez,
Stevie Holguin, and
Annie Wild were named USTFCCCA All-Academic Athletes, recognizing their outstanding performances in both the classroom and competition.
To earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Athlete distinction, student-athletes must hold a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and place in the top 30 percent of their respective regional championship meet, along with meeting additional eligibility requirements.
Teams qualify for USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honors by posting a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale, inclusive of grades from the most recent grading period.
Stan State capped an outstanding 2025 campaign with a 12th-place finish at the NCAA Division II Championships, matching the best national finish in program history.
Junior
Annie Wild led the Warriors by earning All-America honors through USTFCCCA with a 24th-place finish at nationals. Wild also earned All-West Region recognition and All-CCAA First Team honors. She was joined on the All-CCAA First Team by
Izzy Soto,
Jacqueline Sanchez-Silva,
Nina Furtado, and
Bela Moreno.
Stan State finished runner-up at the CCAA Championships, placed fifth at the NCAA West Regional, remained ranked in the national top 25 throughout the fall, and made its fourth NCAA Championship appearance in the past five seasons.
