TURLOCK, Calif.---  Stan State will return to the pitch this weekend with a pair conference matches in Southern California.  The Warriors will face Cal State San Bernardino this Friday, October 6 in San Bernardino at 12:30 p.m. They will finish the weekend with a 11:30 a.m. starting match in Pomona this Sunday, October 8 facing Cal Poly Pomona. 
 
CONFERENCE OPENERS: Stan State went 1-1 in its opening weekend of CCAA play.  The Warriors started their weekend with a 2-1 loss to Cal State San Marcos on Friday evening.  
Haylee Heffner scored the game-tying goal on an assist from 
Alexis Brewah in the 22
nd minute.  The Cougars came back five minutes with what proved to be the game-winning goal by Nani Kia'iana.  
Natalia Ochoa had three saves in goal for the Warriors. Stan State rebounded with a 3-2 victory over Cal State East Bay on Sunday afternoon on Kick Cancer Match.  
Kayla Perez recorded a brace with the Warriors' first two goals, the first off, a missed Brewah penalty kick.  Brewah scored the Warriors' third goal on a through ball by Aliah Avila.  
Malia Allen had six saves in goal for the hosts.    
 
UPDATE ON THE WARRIORS:  Stan State enters its three-match road trip with a 4-4-1 overall record and 1-1 CCAA record.  The Warriors have scored 12 goals in their first eleven matches while they have given up 12 goals.  
Alexis Brewah leads the way with her four goals, four assists, 12 points, and two game-winning goals.  
Kayla Perez is second on the team with three goals and six point and a game-winner.  
Haylee Heffner is third with her two goals, one assist, and five points.  
Sunny Mancilla has two assists and 
Amber Pon has the Warriors' fourth game-winning goal.    
HEAD COACH GABRIEL BOLTON:  In his 19
th season at the helm of the Warriors, Bolton is 198-108-38. Last season, the Warriors went 10-4-4 overall and 7-2-2 in the CCAA and were CCAA co-regular season champions.  
Alexis Brewah was the 2022 CCAA Newcomer of the Year and 
Sabrina Cabrera was the CAA Midfielder of the Year.  Brewah and Cabrera each were named to the First Team All-CCAA and the All-Region Team.  Four Warriors were selected to the Honorable Mention Team in 
Alexia Estrada, 
Summer England, 
Sunny Mancilla, and 
Jocelyn Lopez.  In 2013, Bolton was named the NSCAA West Region Coach of the Year and the CCAA Coach of the Year.  He is the Warriors Women's Soccer All-Time Winningest Coach. 
 
Bolton has guided the Warriors to nine postseason appearances, including four NCAA Tournaments and nine California Collegiate Athletic Association championship tournaments. He led the program to an unprecedented seven consecutive post-season appearances from 2010-16, including two CCAA Tournament titles and the 2014 NCAA West Region Championship.
  
PICKED TO WIN THE CCAA:  Stan State women's soccer is picked to win the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) according to the 2023 CCAA Preseason Women's Soccer Poll that was released by the conference office today.  The Warriors, under the direction of head coach 
Gabriel Bolton, received four of the twelve first place votes.
 
CCAA STATS:  Alexis Brewah is tied for first in the CCAA with her four assists and .444 assists/game average.  She is tied for second with two game-winning goals, fourth in points (12) and points per game (1.33) while she is tied for fourth with her four goals and sixth with her .444 goals per game average.  
Kayla Perez is tied for seventh with her three goals and ninth with her .333 goals per game average.  
Sunny Mancilla is tied for sixth with her two assists and tied for eighth with her .222 assists per game average. 
Natalia Ochoa is tenth with her 1.465 goals against average.
NATIONALLY RANKED:  Alexis Brewah is 22
nd in the nation with her four assists.  
 
UPDATE ON THE YOTES:  Cal State San Bernardino is 4-4-1 overall and 1-1 in the CCAA after defeating Sonoma State (1-0) and losing 3-1 at No. 21 Cal Poly Humboldt over the weekend.  Nathaly Losada Lucumi has scored a team leading four goals with eight points.  Unieque Solis is next on the Yotes with her two goals.  Seven other Yotes have scored a goal each.  Lella Peregrina has a 1.13 goals against average with 27 saves and a .730 saves percentage and three shutouts.  
 
ALL-TIME SERIES: CSU San Bernardino leads the all-time series with the Warriors 14-9-2.  The Yotes defeated Stan State 3-1 on September 23, 2022, in San Bernardino.  
Alexis Brewah scored the Warriors' goal.  The last Warrior victory was a 3-0 win on October 11, 2019, in Turlock.  They last won in San Bernardino on October 21, 2012, a 3-1 victory.
 
UPDATE ON THE BRONCOS:  Cal Poly Pomona is 4-2-2 and 2-0 in the CCAA after defeating No. 21 Cal Poly Humboldt 2-0 and Sonoma State 1-0 on the road last weekend.  Jaclyn Cuevas leads the Broncos with her six goals (one assist) and 13 points. She also has a team leading three game-winning goals.  Bailey McNitt is next on the team with her three goals followed by Tara Oper with two.  Bella Hara has a 0.88 goals against average with 26 saves, three shutouts, and a .788 saves percentage.
