BOSTON, Mass. – The Warriors made the long haul to New England to compete at the Boston University Last Chance meet on the East coast. They return home with seven personal best marks and two NCAA provisional times to end their indoor regular season.

Najwa Chouati returned to the 3000m, this time shattering another school record with a provisional time of 9:26.06 to place 11th overall. This was a new personal best time for Chouati, who was joined by her teammate Yahaira Zuniga, who also PR'd in the event with a 9:53.96. Chouati currently holds the 17th spot on the NCAA Division II Indoor Qualifying list. Bela Moreno was the lone Warrior in the Women's Mile, and finished with a new PR of 5:17.04.

In Women's Weight Throw, the Alexis Garnica (16.58m), Caitlyn Bell (16.08m), and Macky Morris (14.14m) placed 7th-9th, two of whom earned new PRs. Garnica and Morris each threw new personal bests, tossing five feet further than their previous best from GVSU.

On the sprints side, Angel Johnson, Alanna Gillette, and Alexis Kaae each competed in the 60m Dash prelims. Kaae ran in the second heat, rolling to a new 9.22 PR. Her finish was an improvement of .07 seconds since her performance on day one of the GVSU weekend series. Johnson placed 21st overall with a time of 8.66, followed by Gillette at 9.02.

Warrior Head Coach Troy Johnson shared his thoughts on the indoor season as a whole, "A great finish to the regular season for indoor track. In every meet the ladies were competitive and supportive of every effort given," said Coach Johnson. "I'm very proud of them and our coaching staff (Darren) Holman, (Courtney) Heiner, and (Casey) Ballinger for the hard work being done. Najwa will get to compete against the nations best in DII and will represent us proudly. More great things to come from Warrior Track and Field."

UP NEXT: As the indoor regular season concludes, Chouati looks to be on pace for at least two national qualifying spots at this year's NCAA Indoor Championship at Virginia Beach. She currently holds the 9th place spot in the Women's 5000m and the 17th spot in the Women's 3000m. The rest of the Warriors will pick up where they left off during last weekend's outdoor season with their home opener on Mar. 3rd and 4th at the annual Kim Duyst Invitational.
