RECAP OF LAST WEEK: The Warriors snuck one game out of their 3-1 series against Cal State San Bernardino this past weekend. Following rain and lightning delays, the team managed to get a full four games in, including a 5-4 game three victory with the final run scored in the 7
th inning by
Madison Flexser.
UPDATE ON WARRIORS: Stan State is now 4-10 overall with a 2-9 record against CCAA opponents. Heavy rain made the Warriors miss out on two extra non-conference games this Tuesday against Minnesota State University Moorhead but still have a rematch ahead against Chico State this coming weekend. In their last encounter, the Wildcats left with the single-game victory 7-3. The Warriors will look to get some wins of their own against the team this time around.
AMONG THE CCAA LEADERS: The team holds the 3
rd best batting average in the conference (.282) with
Mikaela Ferreira (.405) and
Avery Fitch (.379) leading the way. Ferreira also holds top-10 number in on-base percentage (.486) and 7th best slugging percentage in the CCAA (.619).
Victoria Alarcon has the Warriors' best ERA (2.53) and holds a 2-1 W/L record in her 27.2 innings pitched, while
Jessell Lewis has pitched a majority of the team's innings (36.2), with a 3.25 ERA.
UPDATE ON CHICO STATE: The Wildcats are just a spot above the Warriors in the CCAA standings, with a 14-12 overall record and 3-5 record in conference play. They are currently 3
rd in the conference in team fielding percentage (.968), led by freshman Ashley Rocha and sophomore Grace Stover. Senior Grace Gallagher has been the Wildcats best hitter with a .396 batting average. Their leading pitcher is freshman Amelie Valdez, who is 9
th in the CCAA with a 1.97 ERA.
