Softball Will Honor Alumni During Homestand vs. Cal State Monterey Bay

RECAP OF LAST WEEK: Through their four-game series against Chico State, the Warriors were able to get the final win of the matchup with a 4-2 win over eight innings of play before heading back home for a two-week home stand. The previous three games were decided by a single run, with 1-0 victories for the Wildcats to headline the series.

UPDATE ON WARRIORS: Stan State enters the new week of competition with a 5-13 overall record and 3-12 count against CCAA teams. With a handful of conference games remaining the Warriors have a chance to climb back into playoff contention following next week's Tournament of Champions.

Mikaela Ferreiera remains at the top of the rankings in batting average (.400) and has scored seven runs and eight RBIs for the Warriors this season. Madison Flexser has snuck her way into the top-25 as well (.333) with five runs and three RBIs.
 
Jessell Lewis got the team's most recent pitching win and is right behind her counterpart Kyndra Marzorini at 18th in the conference with an ERA of 2.76. Marzorini (2.73 ERA) also hit 250 strikeouts for her career following her six innings pitched and 24 batters faced on Saturday, while Victoria Alarcon is currently 2-2 on the season with a 2.08 ERA, good for 14th in the CCAA.
 
The team sits in the middle of the pack in overall fielding percentage (.964) with OF Lauryn Serda and SS Katie Thornsberry at the helm. The two Warriors are ranked 7th and 8th in the CCAA with errorless starts to their season.
 
UPDATE ON CAL STATE MONTEREY BAY: The 9-7 Otters the 4th place spot in the conference standings. Their pitchers have combined for a 1.82 ERA on the season, which is 3rd in the conference. Cassie Gasper is the Otters' top pticher and has the 2nd  best ERA in the CCAA (1.21). 1B Alyssa Burt is 3rd in the conference in putouts (176) while catcher Ally Alcayaga's 150 putouts lands her at 6th overall. Stan State has the chance to create opportunities following any Monterey Bay mistakes however, as the Otters have the 3rd most errors in the CCAA (32). 
 
HONORING ALUMNI: Between the doubleheader games on Saturday, Mar. 25th, we will be recognizing our alumni at the conclusion of the first game ahead of Alumni Appreciation Weekend. Honorees will gather behind the 3rd base dugout door at the conclusion of the first game.
