3/9/2023 11:13:00 AM

RECAP OF LAST WEEK: Stan State is coming fresh off a bye week after just a three-game series against #22 Sonoma State on the road in February due to inclement weather. The team couldn't manage to fight out a win, despite some close calls in the first and last games of the series that ended 5-3 and 4-2.

UPDATE ON WARRIORS: As the standings go this season, the Warriors hold a 3-7 record overall with one win in conference play. The bye week has given the team a small sample size to gauge their talent-level in the early season, but they still hold the second-best team batting average in the CCAA (.310). Mikaela Ferreira has been the conference's leading hitter (.533) and has the team's sole home run of the year. Avery Fitch is right behind her at #2, batting a .526, while Kaylee Heath's .385 puts her at #10.

Kyndra Marzorini has seen the most success on the mound for the Warriors with a 2.03 ERA, pitching 21 strikes in 20.2 innings.

Sheridan Gulley, Lauryn Serda, and Katie Thornsberry are all in the top-15 for fielding percentage this year. All three Warriors have gone errorless in their 10 games played this season.

UPDATE ON CAL STATE SAN BERNARDINO: The 'Yotes are 9-12 overall with a solid 5-7 record in conference play. They have amassed the second-most putouts this season (410) and have a 0.971 fielding percentage. The team also has two batters over .400 in Tereise Tosi (.438) and Hayden Greene (.409). Stan State will have to keep these two sluggers at bay in the series, as they have connected on a combined five home runs this year.
