TURLOCK, Calif.--- Heading into this week, Stan State is tied for fifth place in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) standings with Cal State Dominguez Hills. The Warriors are one-game out fourth place and two out of third place. The top six teams at the end of the regular season will receive a berth to the 2023 CCAA Championships, May 10-13, on the campus of Cal State Monterey Bay in Seaside, Calif. Stan State will host San Francisco State, who is in fourth place, this Friday-Sunday, April 14-16 in a four-game series at Warrior Stadium.
LAST TIME: Stan State captured is third series of the season, April 1-3, when the Warriors took two out of three games on the road from Cal State San Marcos. The Warriors won the series opener 4-3 and the finale 15-8 but lost the second game 2-0. Three players hit .300 or higher in
Flavio Perez (.417),
Tyler Van Dyk (.333), and Alex Soli (.300).
Mac Cabero drove in five runs while Perez scored a team leading four runs.
Ryan Leonesio hit a grand slam home run and
Robert Valdivia had a solo home run.
Tony Jacob and
Damian Vallejos each posted victories for the Warriors with
Anthony Ramirez recording his fifth save of the season. The Warriors had 19 strikeouts with Jacob leading the way with six followed by
Casey Carr with four. Last Tuesday, the Warriors lost 8-2 in an exhibition game to the Oakland Athletics' Single A Affiliate Stockton Ports.

Ryan Leonesio each had a hit and scored a run.

Alex Kendrick combined to pitch four scoreless innings of relief, giving up no hits and one unearned run while striking out seven and walking one
WARRIORS IN REVIEW: Stan State is 18-15 overall and 11-12 in the CCAA heading in its four-game series with San Francisco State. The Warriors have a team .264 batting average with a 4.52 team earned run average.

JD Madrigal. Baker leads the team with his 12 stolen bases in as many attempts.
Kyle Rachels has scored a team high 26 times and Van Dyk has a team leading .413 on-base percentage.
FOURTEEN AND COUNTING: Robert Valdivia is on a 14-game reached base safely streak.
Kyle Rachels had his 17-game reached base safely streak snapped in the Warriors' four-game series at Cal State San Marcos.
Alex Solis saw his 12-game hitting streak snapped also at Cal State San Marcos.
Flavio Perez leads the Warriors with his 17-multiple hit games followed by
Tyler Van Dyk at 12,
Kyle Rachels at 11, and Valdivia at 10. Perez leads Stan State with his eight multiple-RBI games followed by

CCAA TEAM LEADERS: Heading into this week's games, Stan State is in the top half of the CCAA in eleven team statistical categories. The Warriors lead the conference with 37 stolen bases and 32 sacrifice hits. They are second with 259 strikeouts and .250 opponents' batting average. Stan State is tied for fourth with two shutouts and 64 doubles while the Warriors are fifth with 302 hits and 18 victories. The Warriors are tied for sixth with six saves and 181 runs scored.

GATORS IN REVIEW: Heading into their two games with Chico State on Tuesday and Wednesday, the San Francisco State Gators are 19-12 overall and 12-11 in the CCAA which places them in fourth place. The Gators are 6-2 in their last eight games including taking three out of four games from Cal State Los Angeles and Cal State San Marcos. They are hitting .337 as a team with six players hitting over .300 in Nick Upstill (.395), Gavin Haimovitz (.375), Kody Gardner (.347), Michael Cunningham (.333), Daniel Santos (.328), and Sammy Gonzalez (>317). Upstill leads SF State with his 26 runs scored, 47 hits, seven triples, and .459 on-base percentage. AJ Schrader hit a team leading seven home runs and Justin Clark has a team high of ten doubles. Gardner leads the Gators with his 27 runs batted in and Gonzalez has stolen as team high seven bases. Gator pitchers are led by Nathan Shin's 4-2 record. Gary Grosjean struck out a team high 43 batters and Andrew Silva has a team leading two saves. Their team's earned run average is 4.84 and led by Jordyn Eglite's 4.89 earned run average.
ALL-TIME SERIES: Stan State leads the all-time series with the Gators 38-23 including taking ten of the last fifteen meetings. The two teams split their four-game series last season in San Francisco. The Warriors won the series opener 4-0 behind
Anthony Ramirez's complete game four-hit shutout. Ramirez struck out six Gators.
Danny Murphy was three-for-five with a run batted in and a run scored while
Ryan Leonesio was three-for-four with a run scored. SF State swept the doubleheader 5-2 and 13-12.
Maxwell Pappas took the loss in the 5-2 game despite striking out nine batters.
Patrick Sweeney took the loss in the 13-12 seven-inning game with
Casey Carr recording the no-decision.
Alex Solis was three-for-five with four runs batted in and two runs scored, and Murphy was two-for-three with two runs scored. The Warriors took the series finale 8-6 with
Noah Chelberg picking up the win and

16-GAME REMAINING IN THE REGULAR SEASON: There sixteen conference games are left in the regular season for the Warriors beginning with their four-game series this weekend with San Francisco State.
