LOS ANGELES/AZUSA, Calif. – Stan State took to Southern California for a quick split up at the Cal State LA Twilight meet and Bryan Clay Invitational at APU. A bulk of the team competed at Cal State LA for their first day of action, pulling off a few top-10 performances in the process.
The throwers sparked off Wednesday's competition in the Men's Hammer Throw, as
Lamont Lane went for a new personal best throw of 52.54m to place 7
th overall. His throwing mate
Luke McMahon went for a 47.40m toss to place 10
th.
Thursday's efforts were led by 1
st place victories from
Andy Huynh in the Men's Pole Vault and
Trent Lauderdale in the 400m Hurdles. Huynh earned the meet win with a 4.41m vault, while Lauderdale crossed the finish with a 52.82 time to take the victory.
Jose Bravo earned himself a new PR in the Pole Vault as well, reaching a new height of 3.96m to place 3
rd.
Carson Sanchez ran his way to a #5 Stan State all-time mark in the 3000m Steeplechase against a loaded DI field with a time of 9:28.18, while
Damaris Burt performed the 100m/200m double, running an 11.27 and 22.61 respectively.
UP NEXT: The team will reconvene at APU for another day of competition this Friday morning.
