4/19/2023 11:40:00 AM

RECAP OF LAST WEEK: The Warriors took on two opponents last week, including a non-conference Wednesday evening doubleheader against Holy Names that ended in 4-0 and 2-1 victories. The team then traveled to San Francisco State for their four-game series on the road against the Gators. Stan State was unable to close out a win during their trip to the Bay Area, even after a hard-fought game two that stretched 12 innings.

UPDATE ON WARRIORS: Now sitting at 12-25 overall and 6-21 in the CCAA, the team has just eight contests left to close out their 2023 season. As the year reaches its conclusion, the Warriors are currently the 5th best team in fielding percentage and hold the 5th place spot in double plays this season with 13. Batting a solid .403 this season, Mikaela Ferreira is the conference's 2nd best hitter. She's also tied for 3rd in hits on the season with 50.

In the pitching circle, Victoria Alarcon (2.07), Kyndra Marzorini (2.31), and Jessell Lewis (2.78) are all in the top-25 for ERA in the CCAA. Karli DalBianco is 17th in the conference in putouts this season with 118, while Sheridan Gulley is top-25 in assists with 68.

UPDATE ON CAL STATE DOMINGUEZ HILLS: The Toros have gone 23-15 overall and 17-11 in the conference this season. Leading a stout defensive front, they currently hold the 5th best record in the CCAA and are one of the best pitching and fielding teams in the conference. Sophomore Alex Davis holds the team's best batting average (.344) while Senior pitcher Alyssa Olague holds a 1.24 ERA, good for 3rd among CCAA players.
