SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Warriors ended their CCAA Track & Field Championship weekend on a high-note, adding two CCAA All-Conference finishes to their list of accomplishments.
Andrew Vazquez and
Cristian Alcantar ran their way to top-3 finishes in the Men's 1500m, placing 2
nd and 3
rd overall with personal best times of 3:49.85 and 3:51.25.
Vazquez continued his success in the Men's 5000m, where he placed 4
th with a time of 14:56.20. His running mate
Jose Bravo placed 8
th in the event, running a 15:04.55.
Mario Gutierrez earned a new personal record in his efforts in the 1500m as well, racing to a 3:58.63 PR for 15
th.
In the field,
Andy Huynh was the team's top vaulter, placing 5
th overall with a leap of 4.37m.
Jose Bravo took 10
th, vaulting to a new personal best 4.07m.
Trent Lauderdale took 4
th overall in the Men's 400m Hurdles following his big PR in the prelims. He would cross the line at 53.62 to help score seven of his team's 56 total points through the weekend. Lauderdale joined his team in the 4x100m relay and 4x400m relay as well, as both relay teams got top-8 finishes. Lauderdale,

Jose Bravo ran a 44.11 in the 4x100m relay to place 5
th overall. In the 4x400m, it was
Luis Mincey,
Levi Gardner, Burt, and Lauderdale on the relay card to place 7
th overall at 3:35.25. Cal Poly Pomona would go on to take both the men's and women's CCAA Championship titles through the weekend of action, while the Warriors locked in 5
th place finishes on the men's and women's side.
