TURLOCK, Calif.--- Stan State's
Sabrina Cabrera was named this week's FloCollege/CCAA Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week as announced by the conference office this afternoon. Cabrera had two assists and a goal in the Warriors' 3-0 victory over Cal Poly Humboldt this past Thursday evening at Warrior Stadium.
Less than a minute checking into the match for the first time in the evening, Cabrera assisted on
Shauna Johnston's goal in the 58
th minute to give Stan State the early 1-0 lead. Nine minutes later, the senior forward assisted on
Aliah Avila's goal to double the Warriors' lead to 2-0. The South Dos Palos, Calif., native sealed the victory for the hosts on her third goal of the season off a cross from
Makeila Yancey in the 77
th minute.
For the season, Cabrera has scored three goals and has two assists for eight points. She has recorded 20 shot attempts including eleven on goal. For her career heading into the last couple of weeks of the regular season, the 2022 CCAA Midfielder of the Year has scored ten goals with four assists for twenty-four points. Of her ten goals, four are game-winning goals.
Stan State (5-5-2, 2-3 CCAA) returns to the pitch this weekend for two home games at Warrior Stadium. The Warriors will host Cal State San Bernardino this Friday, October 25 at 4:30 p.m. on Alumni Night. Two days later Sunday, October 27, Stan State will host No. 2 Cal Poly Pomona on Senior Day beginning at 11:30 a.m. Prior to the match around 11:20 a.m., Stan State will recognize its seniors.
