TURLOCK, Calif.--- For the second straight season, Stan State will host Cal Poly Humboldt in the First Round of the 2024 CCAA Women's Soccer Championships Tournament presented by FloCollege this Sunday, November 10 at noon at Warrior Stadium on the campus of Stanislaus State. The Warriors enter the six-team CCAA Women's Soccer Championships as the fourth seed while Cal Poly Humboldt is the fifth seed.
STAN STATE IN REVIEW: The Warriors averaged 1.61 goals a game while gave up 1.44 goals a game. Stan State posted six shutouts this season. The goalkeeper trio of
Malia Allen,
Tylin Norman, and
Natalia Ochoa had a .761 saves percentage with 83 saves and the six shutouts. Ochoa had a 1.36 goals against average with Norman posted a 1.48 goals against average and Allen a 1.69 goals against average. Norman went 3-2-1 in goal while Allen was 2-1-1 and Ochoa 4-4-1.
Aliah Avila led the way for the Warriors with her eight goals, twenty points, and seven game-winning goals to go with her four assists. Second on the team in scoring was
Jocelin Roa with 12 points (five goals, two assists), followed by
Sabrina Cabrera (four goals, three assists) and
Kaley Miller (two goals, seven assists) each with 11 points.
TENTH APPEARANCE: Stan State will be making its tenth appearance in the CCAA Soccer Championships. This will be the Warriors' third straight appearance in the tournament. Last season, they lost 2-1 in overtime to Cal Poly Humboldt in the First Round at home. The top six teams at the end of the regular season on November 7 will receive a bid to the CCAA Soccer Championships, Nov. 10, 15-17. The first round will be held on November 10 at the sites of the number three and four seeds. The top two seeds receive a first-round bye. The semi-finals are set for November 15 in Arcata, Calif., on the campus of Cal Poly Humboldt. The championship match will take place on November 17 at 11:00 a.m. in Arcata, Calif.
17 STRAIGHT: The Warriors, under the guidance of head coach
Gabriel Bolton, recorded their 17
th straight season with a winning record. During that stretch, this is the 12
th season they have won at least nine matches. Their best season was in 2013 with a 18-1-2 record including going 14-0-2 in the CCAA.
6-2: After starting the season 3-5-2 and 0-3 in the CCAA, Stan State went 6-2 to finish with a 9-7-2 6-5 in the CCAA to finish in fourth place in the final regular season standings. During the eight-match stretch, Stan State recorded four shutouts including a 2-0 victory over then No. 4 Cal Poly Pomona.
6-3-2 AT HOME: The Warriors went 6-3-2 in their eleven matches at home. They were 3-4 in their seven matches away from Warrior Stadium.
CCAA/NCAA RANKED: Heading into their regular season home finale on Thursday, sIx Warriors in

Jocelin Roa are amongst the conference leaders in stats. Avila is first with her seven game-winning goals, second with her 20 points and her eight goals, and third with her four assists.
Natalia Ochoa is fourth in saves (50), sixth in saves percentage (.781), ninth in goals against average (1`.36), and tied for ninth in shutouts (two). Miller leads the CCAA with her seven assists while Cabrera is tied for fourth with her three assists. Roa is tied for seventh with her five goals and Johnston is tied for seventh with her two game-winning goals. Avila is second in the nation with her seven game-winning goals.
CAL POLY HUMBOLDT: The Lumberjacks are 8-7-3 overall and 5-4-2 in the CCAA. They are 2-2-1 in their last five matches including defeating Sonoma State 2-0 in their regular season home finale on Thursday in Arcata. Humboldt is averaging 1.11 goals a game while giving up 1.17 goals a game. Frida Duran Arellano leads the way with her seven goals, 16 points, and four game-winning goals. Camryn Patten has a team leading five assists. Carson Thomson-Terrel has posted a 1.15 goals against average, 73 saves, with a .811 saves percentage and six shutouts.
LAST TIME: The Warriors defeated Cal Poly Humboldt 3-0 on October 17 in Turlock.
Sabrina Cabrera was a part of all three goals. She assisted on
Shauna Johnston's goal in the 58
th minute. She followed that with another assist, this time on a goal by
Aliah Avila in the 67
th minute. The senior forward scored the Warriors' third goal on a pass from
Makeila Yancey.
Tylin Norman had four saves en route to the shutout. With the shutout, Stan State leads the all-time series with the Lumberjacks 18-6-2.
LAST YEAR: Cal Poly Humboldt defeated the Warriors in the First Round of the CCAA Soccer Championships 2-1 in double overtime in Turlock on November 5, 2023.

st on Erin Mohr's penalty kick goal. Frida Duran Arellano scored the game-winner in the 103
rd minute on passes from Kylea Becker and Emilia Long.

WINNER HEADING TO NCAA'S: The winner of the 2024 CCAA Women's Soccer Championships, presented by FloCollege will receive the conference's automatic berth to the NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Championships. The top six teams in each of the nation's eight regions will receive a bid to the NCAA's with the tournament field being announced on November 18 on
www.ncaa.com. There will be one last regional rankings on November 12. The West Region rankings that were released on Wednesday, November 6, Cal Poly Pomona was first followed by Concordia Irvine, Point Loma, Hawai'I Hilo, Azusa Pacific, and Western Washington. The final three spots in the top nine were Cal State Los Angeles, Cal State San Marcos, and Cal State East Bay.
