RENO, Nev.--- Stan State women's indoor track and field began their 2024-25 indoor season this afternoon competing in Day Two of the Silver State invitational at the Reno Spark Convention Center. The first day of the Silver State was yesterday and was the multi-events. Both
Mila Real and
Rionna Wallace moved into the top ten on the Stan State Indoor Track and Field Top Ten lists. Real is now fourth in the 400-meter dash. Wallace is tied for fourth in the 200-meter dash and tied for ninth in the long jump.
Rionna Wallace began her day placing 30
th In the long jump with a jump of 16-8 ½" (5.09m). This jump ties her for ninth on the Warrior top ten lists with Loretta McKinney (2007). This afternoon, the senior transfer ran a 24.60 in the 200-meter dash which placed her 24
th in the field. She moves into a tie for fourth at Stan State with Melanie Bates (1999).
Mila Real ran a 11
th place time of 58.57 in the 400-meter dash to begin the season. This time moves her into fourth on the Stan State Top Ten List. Later in the day, she finished in 36
th place with a time of 25.98 in the 200-meter dash. Stan State had four top ten placers in two events. Three Warriors finished in the top ten in the 3000-meter run in
Yahaira Zuniga (third, 10:34.16),
Noheli Ron (eighth, 11:03.28), and
Milca Osorio (tenth, 11:10.77). Zuniga finished in fifth place in the mile with her time of 5:16.60.
Stan State will return the Reno Sparks Convention Center tomorrow for the final day of the Silver State Invitational. The day begins for the Warriors with
Richiya Washington competing in the triple jump at 10:00 a.m. and
Mila Real running in the 60-meter hurdles. The Warriors will also be competing in the shot put (
Alexis Nino,
Sienna Hawkins) and in the 60-meter dash (
Rionna Wallace).
Several NCAA Division I and NCAA Division II are competing in the Silver State Invitational including Stan State, Nevada, Oregon State, UC Davis, Fresno State, Cal State Fullerton, Boise State, Cal Poly Pomona, Sonoma State, Cal Poly Humboldt, Cal State San Marcos, Northwest Nazarene, Western Washington, and Jessup.
