TURLOCK, Calif.---  Stan State Warrior Sasha Martello was named the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Softball Pitcher of the Week as announced by the conference office today.  Martello picked up two victories in the Warriors' doubleheader sweep of Chico State at home on Sunday.
 
Martello started the day on Sunday pitching 2.2 scoreless innings of relief, giving up just three hits and striking out in game one's 2-1 victory.  The junior transfer hit a solo home run in the series opener. 
 
In the night cap, the Oxnard, Calif., native pitched five innings of relief while giving up six hits and two runs (one earned) in Stan State's 3-2 extra-inning victory over the Wildcats. At the plate, Martello was one-for-two.
 
Stan State and Chico State played an 11:00 a.m. starting doubleheader this morning at Warrior Field.  Heading into the doubleheader, Martello is 4-4 with 13 appearances including five starts.  She has struck out ten batters while walking no one in 45 innings pitched.
