Softball Closes Regular Season with Senior Day Series vs. Cal Poly Humboldt

TURLOCK, Calif. — Stan State returns home this weekend for its final regular season games, hosting Cal Poly Humboldt in a four-game CCAA series at Warrior Softball Field. The series begins Friday, May 1 with a doubleheader at 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m., followed by another doubleheader on Saturday, May 2 at 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.

Saturday's finale will serve as Senior Day, as the Warriors honor Malia Babasa, McKenna Beach and Emily Bigley in a pregame ceremony. Cal Poly Humboldt will also recognize its six seniors as both teams close out the regular season.

Stan State enters the weekend still in the hunt for a postseason berth, as the top five teams will advance to the 2026 CCAA Softball Championship Tournament scheduled for May 6–9 in Hayward, Calif.

Last Time on the Diamond

Stan State dropped all four games of its CCAA road series at Cal State Dominguez Hills, falling 0-4. The Warriors were limited to 17 hits and four runs across the four-game set.

Katelyn Bridgeman led the offense with three hits, including a two-run home run for the Warriors' lone extra-base hit of the series. Marley Hogue and Moxie Barton also recorded three hits apiece, while Ava Montesdeoca and Malia Babasa added two hits each.

In the circle, Alexis Camberos led the group with 9.1 innings pitched, while Alexandria Himes and Nat Camarena each made appearances in the series.

This Week in the CCAA

The CCAA regular season concludes this weekend with a full slate of conference matchups. Stan State hosts Cal Poly Humboldt, while Cal State East Bay travels to Chico State. Cal State Monterey Bay faces San Francisco State, and No. 3 Cal State San Marcos takes on Cal State San Bernardino. Cal State Dominguez Hills is off this weekend after already clinching a postseason berth.

Warriors at a Glance

Through 42 games, Stan State is 19-23 overall and 8-18 in CCAA play, including a 12-6 record at home. The Warriors are batting .259 as a team with 283 hits, 40 doubles, two triples and four home runs while scoring 154 runs. They carry a .310 slugging percentage and a .334 on-base percentage entering this weekend's series.

In the circle, Stan State owns a 3.46 team ERA with 115 strikeouts in 275.0 innings. Opponents are hitting .311 against Warrior pitching, and the defense has compiled a .950 fielding percentage.

Offensive Leaders

Katelyn Bridgeman continues to lead the lineup, batting .397 with 54 hits, 12 doubles, two home runs and 26 RBI, while also scoring a team-high 34 runs. Nat Camarena is hitting .339 with 21 hits and a team-high 22 RBI, while Malia Babasa is batting .306 with 38 hits, 30 runs scored and 13 RBI.

Moxie Barton is hitting .308 with 33 hits, while Ava Montesdeoca has added 31 hits and 22 runs scored. Addie Meddings has contributed 28 hits and 20 RBI this season.

Multi-Hit Games

Stan State has totaled 65 multi-hit games this season, including 55 two-hit performances and 10 three-hit efforts. Katelyn Bridgeman leads the way with 16 multi-hit games, including five three-hit performances, while Malia Babasa has recorded 10 multi-hit games.

Katrina Rodriguez, Ava Montesdeoca, Moxie Barton and Marley Hogue have each added six multi-hit games, while Addie Meddings has contributed five.

Multi-RBI Games

Stan State has recorded 27 multi-RBI games this season, led by Katelyn Bridgeman with seven. Nat Camarena has added six multi-RBI games, including a four-RBI performance, while Addie Meddings has recorded five.

Streaks to Watch

Katelyn Bridgeman enters the weekend with an active hitting streak, while Moxie Barton and Nat Camarena each carry multiple-game streaks into the final series.

Marley Hogue leads the team with a current seven-game reached base streak, while several Warriors carry active streaks into the weekend.

Pitching Leaders

Alexandria Himes anchors the rotation with a 9-5 record and a 2.63 ERA over 106.1 innings, striking out 43 batters with eight complete games and three shutouts. Alexis Camberos has added a 5-6 record with a 2.83 ERA in 74.1 innings, while Nat Camarena has logged 87.1 innings with 47 strikeouts.

Out of the bullpen, Camberos and Camarena have each recorded one save this season.

CCAA Leaders

Stan State ranks among the CCAA leaders in several categories this season, leading the conference in sacrifice hits while ranking fifth in hit-by-pitches, stolen bases and ERA.

Individually, Katelyn Bridgeman ranks sixth in batting average and is tied for the conference lead in sacrifice hits, while Marley Hogue is tied for fourth in sacrifice flies.

In the circle, Alexandria Himes ranks eighth in the CCAA in both ERA and opponent batting average, while Alexis Camberos is 10th in ERA and saves. Nat Camarena ranks sixth in strikeouts looking and is tied for 10th in saves.

NCAA West Region

Stan State is receiving consideration in the latest NCAA Division II West Region poll and remains in the mix for a spot in the official regional rankings.

The Warriors are part of a group of teams under consideration that includes Biola, Cal State Dominguez Hills, Cal State East Bay, Cal State Monterey Bay, Cal State San Marcos, Concordia Irvine, Hawai'i Hilo, Northwest Nazarene and Western Washington.

Stan State enters the final weekend at 19-23 overall as it looks to strengthen its postseason resume. The next set of regional rankings will be released Wednesday, April 29, with NCAA Division II Softball Championship selections announced May 11.

CCAA Standings

Cal State San Marcos, ranked No. 3 in the nation, leads the CCAA standings with a 24-4 conference record and a 43-6 overall mark and has already clinched a berth in the CCAA Softball Championship Tournament. Cal State East Bay, ranked No. 10 nationally, sits second at 19-9 and has also secured its postseason spot, while Cal State Dominguez Hills has also clinched a berth and is 17-15 in conference play.

Cal Poly Humboldt is 14-12 and in position for a postseason spot, while Cal State Monterey Bay currently holds the fifth spot at 12-16. Cal State San Bernardino and San Francisco State, both at 10-16, remain in the hunt, while Chico State is 10-18 in CCAA action.

Stan State is currently 8-18 in conference play and 19-23 overall, remaining in the hunt for one of the final postseason spots. The top five teams at the end of the regular season will advance to the CCAA Softball Championship Tournament, scheduled for May 6–9 in Hayward.

Scouting Cal Poly Humboldt

Cal Poly Humboldt enters the weekend with a 23-24 overall record and a 14-12 mark in CCAA play, including a strong 11-3 record at home. The Lumberjacks are hitting .305 as a team with 400 hits, 86 doubles, 12 triples and 26 home runs while scoring 265 runs. They carry a .449 slugging percentage and a .380 on-base percentage.

Shelby Shanks leads the lineup with a .430 batting average, adding 64 hits, 14 doubles, seven home runs and 43 RBI. Marissa Brody is hitting .384 with 46 RBI, while Katlyn Gifford is batting .375 with seven home runs and 39 RBI. Bella Garcia has added 44 hits, and the Lumberjacks feature a balanced offensive attack throughout the lineup.

In the circle, Cal Poly Humboldt owns a 4.18 team ERA and is holding opponents to a .297 batting average. Lily Fournier leads the staff with a 12-12 record, a 2.59 ERA and 118 strikeouts in 154.1 innings pitched, while Ariana Bottel and Mason Hatton provide additional depth in the rotation.

Defensively, the Lumberjacks are fielding .947 as a team.

Series History vs. Cal Poly Humboldt

Cal Poly Humboldt leads the all-time series 47-18 over Stan State, including a 44-17 mark in CCAA play. The Warriors are 11-24 at home and 5-21 on the road in the series.

Stan State enters the weekend looking to snap a four-game losing streak in the series, with the Lumberjacks winning seven of the last 10 meetings dating back to 2023.

The last matchup came in April 2025 in Arcata, where Cal Poly Humboldt took three of four games. Stan State's last win in the series was a 7-4 victory on April 8, 2023.

Warriors Set to Celebrate Senior Day

Stan State will honor its 2026 senior class this weekend during its series against Cal Poly Humboldt, recognizing Malia Babasa, McKenna Beach and Emily Bigley for their contributions to the program. The Senior Day ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, May 2 at approximately 10:30 a.m. at Warrior Softball Field.

The trio has provided leadership, experience and versatility both on and off the diamond. Babasa leads the lineup with a .306 batting average and 38 hits this season, while Beach has added a veteran presence and defensive stability. Bigley has continued to excel as a student-athlete while contributing in the field. Together, the group has helped shape the culture of the program while representing Stan State throughout their careers.
