TURLOCK, Calif.--- Stan State's
Alfred Nunes finished in third place out of eleven competitors in the decathlon at the two-day Stanislaus Multi's at the Al Brenda Track at Warrior Stadium. Nunes recorded 5964 points to finish in third place behind the Chico State duo of Jordan Ausbie (6594 points) and Justin Craves (6316 points).
"Great job by Alfred (Nunes) having increasing his personal best by 500 points…he's very determined to break 6,000 point which is in his reach," said Stan State head coach
Troy Johnson.
Nunes won the 110 hurdles with a personal best time of 15.60. He finished in second in two events in the 110 hurdles and pole vault while he was fourth in the 100-meter dash, long jump, and shot put. The Warrior multi-athlete was sixth in the javelin and seventh in the 400-meter and 1500-meter.

MOVED INTO THE TOP FIVE: With his 5964 points,
Alfred Nunes is fourth in the CCAA after today's Stanislaus Multi's. Chico State's Jordan Ausubie is second followed by his teammate Justin Craven with 6594 and 6316 points respectively.
UP NEXT: Nunes and his teammates will be participating in four invites in the Los Angeles Metropolitan Area, April 10-13. The distance runners will be competing in the Bryan Clay Invitational and the Leopard Distance Carnival. The Bryan Clay will take place April 11-13 on the campus of Azusa Pacific in Azusa, Calif. The Leopard Distance Carnival will take place Friday, April 12 at 7pm in LaVerne, Calif., on the campus of LaVerne University. The Warrior sprinters, vaulters, jumpers, hurdlers, and throwers will be at the Cal State L.A. Twilight, April 10-11, on the campus of Cal State Los Angeles and the Beach Invitational, April 12-13, on the campus of Long Beach State University in Long Beach, Calif.
