RENO, Nev.--- Stan State's
Annie Wild finished in first place in the mile this afternoon with a time of 4:54.93. Over in the 60-meter dash Blue Section,
Rionna Wallace finished in sixth place in the finals with her time of 7.82. Two Warriors also placed in the top ten in their respective events as
Jacqueline Sanchez-Silva was sixth in the mile (5:09.42) and
Alexis Nino was ninth in the shot put (44-2 ¾, 13.48m).
Annie Wild's time of 4:54.93 was her second sub-five-minute mile in less than a week. Last week, she broke the school record with her time of 4:46.05 at the UW Preview/Mile City which is the sixth fastest time in the nation. In Day Two of the Nevada Invite on Friday, Wild was part of the Distance Medley Relay team with
Jacqueline Sanchez-Silva,
Mila Real, and
Crystal Hernandez that broke the Reno-Sparks Convention Center record with their provisional time of 11:53.07.
Rionna Wallace started her day with a time of 7.81 to qualify for the finals. The senior transfer finished in sixth in the finals with a time of 7.82. She currently holds the Stan State record in ther 60-meter dash with a time of 7.80.
Jacqueline Sanchez-Silva finished in sixth in the mile with her time of 5:03.70. Over in the 60-meter hurdles,
Mila Real improved her time with a time of 9.51 which placed her 18
th in the field and eighth in her heat.
Alexis Nino moved into third place on the Warriors' top ten list in the shot put with her ninth place throw of 44-2 ¾ (13.48m).
Sienna Hawkins had a throw of 30-3 ¾ (9.24m) which placed her 36
th in the field.
UP NEXT: Stan State will return to competition in two weeks at the Wolf Pack Classic back at the Reno Sparks Convention Center in Reno, Nev., February 7-8.
