TURLOCK, Calif.--- Three Stanislaus State men's soccer standouts — Gerardo Flores, Samuel Villanueva and Angel Ruiz-Hernandez — have been named to the D2CCA All-West Region First Team, as selected by the region's sports information directors.

Flores, a junior forward from Modesto, Calif., was one of the most dangerous attacking players in the CCAA this fall. He led the Warriors with nine goals and six assists for 24 total points, including five game-winners. Flores ranks fifth on Stanislaus State's single-season points list and sixth in single-season goals. His offensive production this season also places him among the program's most efficient finishers, powering an attack that scored 44 goals and ranked among the nation's best in scoring average.

Villanueva, a senior defender, anchored one of Division II's stingiest defenses while also making his mark in the attacking third. He totaled 13 assists this season, setting a new Stanislaus State single-season record, and is now the Warriors' career assists leader with 17. Villanueva also ranks tied for ninth in career points with 29 and tied for 10th in single-season points with 17. His leadership and consistency in the back made him a cornerstone for a unit that posted 11 shutouts and a 0.48 team goals-against average.

Ruiz-Hernandez, a senior goalkeeper from Keyes, Calif., turned in another outstanding season in net. He compiled a 17-1-1 record with a 0.48 goals-against average, .882 save percentage, and 11.5 shutouts — setting a new Stanislaus State single-season record. Ruiz-Hernandez also continues to climb the Warriors' career record books, ranking second in career shutouts (17), third in wins (23), fourth in minutes (3,132), and sixth in saves (128). His reliability and composure anchored a defense that ranked among the nation's elite.

The trio has helped guide the Warriors to a 17-1-1 overall record, the CCAA Tournament championship, and a berth in the NCAA Division II West Region third round. Stanislaus State advanced with a 2-0 victory over Hawai'i Hilo in the second round and will now host No. 8 Midwestern State in the third round on Sunday, Nov. 30, at 3 p.m. at Warrior Stadium.

Stanislaus State was one of just three programs in the West Region to place three players on the All-Region First Team, joining Western Oregon and Point Loma.
All three Warriors are now eligible for consideration on the D2CCA All-America Team, which will be announced in early December.
