TURLOCK, Calif.--- Stan State will look to continue its momentum for it's come-from-behind second 65-62 victory at Cal Poly Humboldt. The Warriors enter the weekend in a four-way tie for sixth place in the CCAA standings. The top six teams will receive a berth to the 2024-25 CCAA Basketball Tournament Championship, March 6-8, in San Marcos, Calif. Stan State will host No. 23 Cal State Dominguez Hills this Thursday, February 13 in its annual Homecoming Game at 7:30 p.m. This Saturday on Alumni Day at The Fitz, Stan State will host Cal State Los Angeles at 3:00 p.m.
LAST WEEK: The Warriors went 1-1 last week in their road trip to Northern California. They saw their second half rally fall short in a 74-68 loss at Chico State.
Jeremiah Jones scored 22 points to lead Stan State.
Lloyd French added 14 points off the bench with
Daniel Ameyaw recording a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Two days later, the Warriors rallied from a ten-point second half deficit to defeat Cal Poly Humboldt 65-62 in Arcata, Calif. Jones led the way with a game high 23 points including going three-for-four from the line in the final ten seconds. The senior guard finished the weekend averaging 22.5 points and going 14-for-16 from the line.
Daniel Ameyaw averaged 10.0 points and 8.5 rebounds per game.
WARRIORS: Stan State enters this week with a 10-12 overall record and a 7-9d CCAA record, which places the Warriors in a four-way tie for sixth place with Cal Poly Pomona, San Francisco State, and Cal State Los Angeles. They're averaging 68.50 points per game while giving up 70.55 points per game. Stan State is being outrebounded 35.1 to 32.8.

FOUR-WAY TIE FOR SIXTH PLACE: Stan State entering this weekend is in a four-way tie for sixth place with Cal Poly Pomona, Cal State Los Angeles, and San Francisco State each with a7-9 CCAA record. The Warriors are one game out of fifth place Cal State East Bay (8-8) and two out of third place Cal State San Bernardino and Cal Poly Humboldt (9-7). Cal State Dominguez Hills is in first place at 15-1 followed by Chico State in second at 13-3 with just six games left in the regular season. The top six teams at the end of the regular season on March 1 will receive a berth to the 2024-25 CCAA Basketball Tournament Championship, March 6-8, on the campus of Cal State San Marcos in San Marcos, Calif.
THIRD SWEEP: With its 65-62 victory at Cal Poly Humboldt this Saturday, the Warriors swept the season series from the Jacks. They defeated Humboldt 72-58 in January in Arcata. Two weeks ago, the Warriors swept their season series from the Gators (winning 61-57 in Turlock and 67-55 in San Francisco). Earlier this season, Stan State swept the season series from Cal State Monterey Bay 90-79 in Turlock and 69-68 in overtime in Seaside. The last time they have swept a CCAA series was during the 2022-23 season (Cal Poly Pomona). The last time, Stan State swept three opponents in a season was during the 2019-20 season (Cal State East Bay, Cal State Monterey Bay, and San Francisco State).
6-1: Stan State is 5-1 when the Warriors score 70 points or more in a game. The Warriors' only loss when they have scored more than 70 points was an 86-83 overtime loss at home to UC Merced. Their five victories are Fresno Pacific (74-62), Western Oregon (94-88), Hawai'i Pacific (75-67), Cal State Monterey Bay (90-79), Cal Poly Humboldt (72-58), and Sonoma State (95-85). Stan State's four victories when scoring less than 70 points was its 69-68 overtime victory at Cal State Monterey Bay, a 67-55 victory at San Francisco State, a 61-57 win over San Francisco State at home, and a 65-62 win at Cal Poly Humboldt.
NOW AT 21: Jeremiah Jones has scored in double figures in all 21 games that he has played in this season for the Warriors. He leads the team with his 18.9 scoring average, 62 assists, 89.1% shooting from the line, and 47.1% shooting from the field. EIght times he has scored 20 points or more including a career high 33 points in the Warrior victory over Western Oregon in Rohnert Park, Calif., on Nov. 9, 2024. For his career, Jones has scored 775 points, grabbed 228 rebounds, dished out 125 assists, and recorded 68 steals during his four-year career as a Warrior.
DOUBLE-DOUBLE: Daniel Ameyaw recorded his third double-double of the season in the Warriors' game at Chico State this past Thursday. The junior post player scored 12 points to go with his 11 rebounds. This was his sixth of his career. For the season, Ameyaw is averaging 8.4 points and 7.4 rebounds per game and is shooting 47.1% from the field.
CCAA STATS: Stan State is in the top six in five team statistical categories. The Warriors are fifth in scoring defense (70.5 ppg). They are sixth in in field goal percentage defense 945%), three-point field goals made per game (6.9), free throw percentage (73%), and turnover margin (+1.18).
Jeremiah Jones is in the top ten in five individual categories. He is first in free throw percentage (89.1%), second in scoring (18.9 ppg), sixth in field goal percentage (47.1%), eighth in assist/turnover ratio (+1.4), and ninth in assists/game (3.0).
Daniel Ameyaw is fourth in rebounding (7.4 per game). In CCAA games only stats, Jones is first in free throw (92%), third in scoring (19.2 ppg), and eighth in field goal percentage (44.3%). Ameyaw is fifth in rebounding with his 7.4 rebounds per game average.
Jason Cibull is tied for eighth with his 1.9 three-point field goals made per game.
JONES 18TH: Jeremiah Jones is 17
th in the nation with his 89.1% shooting from the line. He has made 82 of his 92 attempts. Seven times this season he hasn't missed an attempt including going nine-for-nine in the Warriors' game at Cal State East Bay.
UPDATE ON THE TOROS: Cal State Dominguez Hills has won 17 of its last 18 games including the last five games in a row. Last weekend, the Toros (18-4, 15-1 CCAA) defeated Cal State San Bernardino (84-82) and Cal Poly Pomona (72-49) at home. They are averaging 78.2 points per game while giving up 69.9 points per game. CSUDH is outrebounding its opponents 37.1 to 32.4. Four Toros are averaging double digits in scoring in Jeremy Dent-Smith (18.4 ppg), Adam Afifi (14.5 ppg), David Cheatom (11.7 ppg), and Alex Garcia (10.1 ppg). Afifi leads the team with his 7.3 rebounding average and 27 blocked shots. Dent-Smith leads CSUDH with his 56 treys made and 71 assists. Cheatom is shooting a team high 51.6% from the field, 40.5% from three-point land, and 81.9% from the charity stripe. Jordan Hilstock has recorded a team high 39 steals.
ALL-TIME SERIES VS. CSUDH: Since 2008, Cal State Dominguez Hills leads the all-time series with the Warriors 19-12 including winning four of the last games between the teams. CSUDH defeated the Warriors 67-57 in Carson on December 7, 2024, behind Jeremy Dent-Smith's 18 points.

GOLDEN EAGLES IN REVIEW: Cal State Los Angeles enters its game at Cal State Monterey Bay this Thursday with a 9-13 overall record and a 7-9 CCAA record. The Golden Eagles have lost two of their last six games and went 1-1 at home this past weekend. They lost 48-46 to Cal Poly Pomona and rebounded with an 86-78 victory over Cal State San Bernardino. Cal State Los Angeles is averaging 71.5 points per game and giving up 71.5 points per game. CSULA is being outrebounded 35.9 to 27.3. Four players are averaging double digits in scoring in Corey Cofield II (18.3 ppg), Dominic Escobar (11.3 ppg), Rafael Gay (10.6 ppg), and Shane Bell (10.4 ppg). Cofield leads the Golden Eagles with his 6.7 rebounding average. Jaden Lazo has made a team high 47 treys and leads CSULS with his 55 steals. Bell leads the team with his 79 assists while Kyjuan Cannady has blocked a team high 22 shots. Escobar has shot a team high 85.7% from the line and Gay leads the team with his 66% shooting from the field.
ALL-TIME SERIES VS. CSULA: Since 2008, Cal State Los Angeles leads the all-time series 21-11 with the Golden Eagles winning the last four meetings in a row. Stan State lost to the Golden Eagles 75-63 in Los Anglees on December 5, 2024, in Los Angeles. Corey Cofield II led the way for Cal State Los Angeles with 21 points.
