TURLOCK, Calif.--- The Stan State Warriors will have their final road trip of the regular season this weekend, February 20 and 22. They will travel to San Marcos, Calif., this Thursday, February 20 to face Cal State San Marcos. After Thursday, the Warriors will travel to Rohnert Park, Calif., to face Sonoma State this Saturday, February 22. Both games have scheduled tip-offs for 7:30 p.m.
LAST WEEK: The Warriors went 0-2 last week at home against No. 17 Cal State Dominguez Hills (73-70) and Cal State Los Angeles (83-79). In their loss to the Toros on Thursday evening,
Cameron Walker led the way with 17 points.
Daniel Ameyaw recorded a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds.
Jeremiah Jones chipped in 12 points and dished out six assists. The Warriors finished the weekend with an 83-79 loss to the Golden Eagles. Jones paced the Warriors with a game high 24 points. Ameyaw added 16 points and Walker chipped in 14 points.
WARRIORS: Stan State enters this week with a 10-14 CCAA record and a 7-11 CCAA record. The Warriors are averaging 69.0 points per game while giving up 71.2 points per game. Stan State is being outrebounded 34.2 to 33.0.

Cameron Walker for the team lead with 31 three-point field goals made.
Daniel Ameyaw leads the Warriors with his 49.4% shooting from the field and 7.6 rebounds per game average.
Jason Zimmer is shooting a team high 40.3% from three-point land.
Jonathan Tchengang has recorded a team leading 30 steals and
Mahda Fallay has blocked a team high nine shots.
TWO GAMES OUT: Stan State is two games out for the final spot for the six-team 2024-25 CCA Men's Basketball Championship Tournament. The Warriors enter the week in ninth place with a 7-11 conference record. They are two games out fifth place which Cal Poly Pomona and Cal State Los Angeles are tied for with their 9-9 conference record. Cal State Dominguez Hills (17-1) and Chico State (15-3) have clinched spots for the post-season tournament. Currently in third place is Cal State San Bernardino (11-7) followed by Cal Poly Humboldt (10-8). Sitting in a tie for eighth place are Cal State East Bay and San Francisco State each with an 8-10 CCAA record. The top six teams at the end of the regular season on March 1 will receive a berth to the 2024-25 CCAA Basketball Tournament Championship, March 6-8, on the campus of Cal State San Marcos in San Marcos, Calif.
THIRD SWEEP: With its 65-62 victory at Cal Poly Humboldt on February, the Warriors swept the season series from the Jacks. They defeated Humboldt 72-58 in January in Arcata. Two weeks ago, the Warriors swept their season series from the Gators (winning 61-57 in Turlock and 67-55 in San Francisco). Earlier this season, Stan State swept the season series from Cal State Monterey Bay 90-79 in Turlock and 69-68 in overtime in Seaside. The last time they have swept a CCAA series was during the 2022-23 season (Cal Poly Pomona). The last time, Stan State swept three opponents in a season was during the 2019-20 season (Cal State East Bay, Cal State Monterey Bay, and San Francisco State).
DOUBLE-DOUBLE: Daniel Ameyaw recorded his fourth double-double of the season in the Warriors' game with 12-points, 13-rebounds performance against No. 17 Cal State Dominguez Hills. This was his seventh of his career. For the season, Ameyaw is averaging 8.9 points and 7.6 rebounds per game while shooting 49.4% from the field to go with his 30 assists and eight blocked shots.
NOW AT 23: Jeremiah Jones has scored in double figures in all 23 games that he has played in this season for the Warriors. He leads the team with his 18.8 scoring average, 71 assists, 89.3% shooting from the field and is tied for the team lead with 31 treys made. Nine times he has scored 20 points or more including a career high 33 points in the Warrior victory over Western Oregon in Rohnert Park, Calif., on Nov. 9, 2024. For his career, Jones has scored 811 points, grabbed 240 rebounds, dished out 134 assists, and recorded 69 steals in his career at Stan State.
JONES 18TH: Jeremiah Jones is 18
th in the nation with his 89.3% shooting from the line. He has made 92 of his 103 attempts. Eight times this season he hasn't missed an attempt including going nine-for-nine in the Warriors' game at Cal State East Bay.
CCAA STATS: Stan State is third in the CCAA with its 83.4% shooting from the line and fifth with its 7.0 treys made per game.
Jeremiah Jones is in the top ten in the CCAA in five individual categories. He is first in free throw percentage (89.3%), second in scoring (18.8 ppg), sixth in assist/turnover ratio (1.4), eighth in field goal percentage (46.1%) and tied for eighth in assists/game (3.1).
Daniel Ameyaw is third with his 7.6 rebounds per game average.
UPDATE ON THE COUGARS: Entering its game this evening with Sonoma State, Cal State San Marcos is 4-19 overall and 4-13 in the CCAA after going 3-7 in its last ten games including 0-2 this weekend on the road versus Cal State San Bernardino (60-53) and Cal Poly Pomona (80-50). The Cougars are averaging 64.9 points per game while giving up 72.9 points per game. They are outrebounding their opponents 34.6 to 30.8. Dexter Stratton leads the way for CSUSM with his 12.2 scoring and 6.6 rebounding average. He leads the team with his 49.7% shooting from the field. Donovan Watkins has dished out a team high 47 assists while Keavie Love has recorded a team high 27 steals. Will Harris has made a team high 35 treys and
Micah Boone has made a team leading 87.1% of his attempts from the line and 11 blocked shots.
ALL-TIME SERIES VS. CSUSM: Since 2008, Cal State San Marcos leads the all-time series with the Warriors 12-3. The Cougars won the first meeting of the season 66-54 on January 25 in Turlock.
Jeremiah Jones paced the Warriors with 24 points while
Jonathan Tchengang added 11 points. The last Stan State win in San Marcos was a 74-65 victory on Feb. 2, 2019, behind Ty Davis and Andy Cleaves each with 17 points.
SEAWOLVES IN REVIEW: Sonoma State is 10-13 overall and 6-11 in the CCAA heading into its game at Cal State San Marcos this evening. The Seawolves are 2-3 in their last five games including losing goth games this weekend at Cal Poly Pomona (78-73 in overtime) and at Cal State San Bernardino (81-79). They are averaging 75.6 points per game while giving up 76.0 points per game. Sonoma is being outrebounded 34.9 to 30.6. Four Seawolves are averaging double digits in scoring in James Nobles (14.1 ppg), Chris Holley (11.6 ppg), Nick Medeiros (11.6 ppg), and Julian Bryant (10.6 ppg). Jakob Millins leads Sonoma State his 5.3 rebounding average. Holley has dished out a team high 105 assists while Medeiros has a team high 26 steals. Medeiros is shooting a team high 86% from the line while Holley has made a team leading 55% of his attempts from the field. Aaron Ragen and Jack Schultz each lead Sonoma with their 44 threes made and Ragen has made a team leading 50% of his attempts from beyond the arc.
ALL-TIME SERIES VS. SONOMA: Since 2008, Stan State leads the all-time series 18-13 including defeating the Seawolves 95-85 in Turlock on January 23.
