TURLOCK, Calif.--- Stan State will host Cal Poly Pomona and Cal State San Bernardino this Thursday and Saturday, February 27 and March 1 in its final home stand of the 2024-25 regular season. Thursday's tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on KW Recovery Night. Saturday the Warriors will tip-off at 3:00 p.m. Prior to the game, Stan State will recognize its five seniors in
William Chavarin,
Mahda Fallay,
Jeremiah Jones,
Jonathan Tchengang, and
Cameron Walker.
LAST WEEK: The Warriors went 1-1 in their final two road games of the regular season. They started the weekend with a 78-63 win at Cal State San Marcos.
Jeremiah Jones paced the Warriors with 19 points.
Lloyd French had a season high 15 points and eight rebounds off the bench.
Daniel Ameyaw scored 11 points and
Cameron Walker chipped in 10 points. Two evenings later in Rohnert Park, Stan State lost 78-72 to Sonoma State. Jones led the way with 20 points with
William Chavarin and Ameyaw each scoring 12 points. For the weekend, Stan State shot 49.2% from the field including 44.7% from three-point land. They forced 26 turnovers by their two opponents and held them to just 34.6% shooting from three-point land.
WARRIORS: Stan State enters this week with a 11-15 overall record and an 8-12 CCAA record. The Warriors are in a three-way tie for eighth place with Sonoma State and San Francisco State. They are averaging 69.5 points per game while giving up 71.1 points per game. Stan State is being outrebounded by its opponents 34.3 to 32.9.

THIRD SWEEP: With its 65-62 victory at Cal Poly Humboldt on February 8, the Warriors swept the season series from the Jacks. They defeated Humboldt 72-58 in January in Arcata. Two weeks before that, the Warriors swept their season series from the Gators (winning 61-57 in Turlock and 67-55 in San Francisco). Earlier this season, Stan State swept the season series from Cal State Monterey Bay 90-79 in Turlock and 69-68 in overtime in Seaside. The last time they have swept a CCAA series was during the 2022-23 season (Cal Poly Pomona). The last time, Stan State swept three opponents in a season was during the 2019-20 season (Cal State East Bay, Cal State Monterey Bay, and San Francisco State).
TWO SPLITS: Stan State has split the season series with two of its opponents this season in Cal State San Marcos and Sonoma State. Earlier this season at The Fitz, Stan State lost 66-54 to Cal State San Marcos. The Warriors defeated the Cougars this past weekend, 78-63 in San Marcos. The Warriors defeated Sonoma State 95-85 in Turlock in January but lost 78-72 to the Seawolves in Rohnert Park this weekend.
DOUBLE-DOUBLE: Daniel Ameyaw recorded his fourth double-double of the season in the Warriors' game with 12-points, 13-rebounds performance against No. 17 Cal State Dominguez Hills. This was his seventh of his career. For the season, Ameyaw is averaging 7.5 rebounds per game to go with his ten blocked shots. He is averaging 9.1 points per game while shooting 48.9% from the field to go with his 31 assists and 12 steals.
NOW AT 25: Jeremiah Jones has scored in double figures in all 25 games that he has played in this season for the Warriors. He leads the team with his 18.9 scoring average, 34 treys made, and 87.9% shooting from the charity stripe. Ten times he has scored 20 points or more including a career high 33 points in the Warrior victory over Western Oregon in Rohnert Park, Calif., on Nov. 9, 2024. For his career, Jones has scored 850 points, grabbed 251 rebounds, dished out 140 assists, and recorded 72 steals.

th in the nation with his 87.9% shooting from the line. He has made 94 of his 107 attempts. Eight times this season he hasn't missed an attempt including going nine-for-nine in the Warriors' game at Cal State East Bay.

Jeremiah Jones is in the top ten in the CCAA in four categories. Jones is first in free throw percentage (87.9%), tied for second in scoring (18.9 points per game), and seventh in field goal percentage (46.7%) and assists per game (7.1).
Daniel Ameyaw is third in rebounding (7.5 rebounds per game).
UPDATE ON THE BRONCOS: Cal Poly Pomona enters Thursday's game with the Warriors with a 16-10 overall record and a 11-9 CCAA record. The Broncos have clinched a spot in the CCAA Basketball Tournament as they are tied with Cal Poly Humboldt for fourth place. They are averaging 67.2 points per game while giving up 64.0 points per game. CPP is outrebounding its opponents 35.2 to 34.3. Demarreya Lewis-Cooper leads the team with his 11.0 scoring average and 72 assists. Kevin Simeth is averaging a team leading 5.3 rebounding average to go with his 19 blocked shots. Shyheim Parm has recorded a team leading 39 steals and has made a team high 27 three-point field goals. Sam Hunter is shooting a team high 54.6% from the field and 44.8% from three-point land. ALL-TIME SERIES VS. POMONA: Since 2008, Cal Poly Pomona leads the all-time series 24-9 but the two teams have split the last six meetings. Earlier this season, the Broncos defeated Stan State 67-47 in Pomona despite
Jeremiah Jones' 16 points. The last Stan State win over the Broncos was Feb. 23, 2023, in Pomona, a 70-67 Warrior win. The last Warrior victory over CPP in Turlock was Jan. 14, 2023, a 70-62 victory behind Kobe Ordonio's 23 points.
