BERKELEY, Calif.--- Stan State's
Trent Lauderdale improved his NCAA Division II provisional qualifying time in the 400 hurdles this afternoon with a time of 52.44. That time is currently the third fast time in the nation. Lauderdale was one of eleven Warriors to place in the top ten in their respective events.
Alexis Nino captured the women's shot put while
Mason Phillips and
Devin Hernandez captured the men's shot put. Capturing the hammer was
Lamont Lane with a throw of 178-2 (54.32m)
Lauderdale's time of 52.44 was the second fastest time in the field at the Cal Opener. Moving into tenth place on the Warriors' top ten list in the 100-meter dash is
Jaevin Sawyer with sixth-place time of 10.80.
Nino captured the women's shot put with her throw of 38-10 ½ (11.85m). Hernandez and Phillips tied for first in the men's shot put with their throw of 47-11 ¼ (14.61m).
Finishing in second place in the long jump was
Reyna Dismukes with a jump of 18-3 ¼ (5.57m).
Joshua Shimoda had a second placed throw of 152-7 (46.51m) in the men's javelin. Finish in third place was
Cole Bailey with his throw of 151-3 (46.10m) in men's javelin.
Rionna Wallace finished in third place in the 400-meters (59.85) and was fourth in the 200-meter (24.75). Her time of 24.75 tied her season fastest time that she set a couple of weeks ago in Fresno.
Mila Real just missed provisionally qualifying for the 2024-25 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships in the 400-meter hurdles. Real had a third-place time of 1:02.14.
Stan State's 4x100 relay team of
Eris Hutchins,
Jaheim Williams,
Jaevin Sawyer, and
Trent Lauderdale ran a 41.56 this afternoon to place third in today's field at the Cal Opener.

Annie Wild will compete in the 2024-25 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships in the mile. She is the number ranked student-athlete in the field at the championships. The Warriors will return to outdoor competition on March 29 at the Veterans Memorial Stadium in Clovis, Calif., at the West Coast Relays which will be hosted by Fresno State University.
